I don't count drinks so I can talk about it. I just know what gets brought to my house on a sunday because I know how many people usually come and what everyone brings.

Its been going on for a long time. Just....what we do during football season. We don't set out to drink ___ beers. But we have food...and the same people always bring roughly the same number of beers.

If im drinking for the sake of drinking I don't drink beer to begin with.

But football season in America is a whole different animal. I live near Clemson. 85 thousand seat stadium that is packed for football with another 10-20 thousand who don't even go inside. People just stay in the parking lot and tailgate.

People hook power inverters to their cars and power bigass TVs right outside and sit there from 9am to 6-7PM with literally 200 beers for a group of friends. You see people walking around with giant trashbags just collecting cans to recycle later.

I doubt anyone is counting. Its just....a football day in the south.

Drinking in public places on the beach is illegal in QLD. I havent seen any beach bars in Gold Coast, Sunshine coast, etc, like there are in beaches in other parts of the world. I remember the first time I went to the gold coast with my friends. Brought a six pack of beer in a cooler expecting to bring to the beach...nope.

I was on bronte beach in sydney for xmas (raining...it sucked) and we were drinking on the beach park and got "told" by the police we weren't allowed to be drinking. They basically let it slide since it's christmas but still...obviously if it wasn't xmas they wouldn't be having it. After all, the australian government loves giving out ridiculous fines and the money it brings them.

Cant even drink on Bondi either.
