Can someone tell me how Wiggins is significantly better than Harrison Barnes?

How come people are so high on Wiggins? He just looks like Harrison Barnes 2.0 to me. Can someone explain to me why hey think he will be a Superstar?

But he's a much better defender right now and has way more potential. Right now I'm not sure how good Wiggins is compared to Barnes. In 2-3 years he'll be way better I think

I wouldn't say that Wiggins is even a better defender than Barnes at this point. Why is Wiggins so much higher coming out of college than Barnes was?

I have and Barnes is almost every bit as athletic. The 2 are practically clones but Barnes is slightly less athletic but has a better jumper.

I'm assuming you don't have ingrained work ethic and a 7ft wingspan. This kid is built to play ball. Barnes is an excellent athlete but he's not in the same conversation as Wiggins.

Barnes stayed 2 years at UNC. His 2nd season was similar to Wiggins freshmen year. Wiggins is still pretty raw but Barnes came to the NBA with an extra year of development.

Wiggins is just more athletic. Moves better, better leaper, quicker, more fluid etc. Better defensively coming out of college. Wiggins could obviously hit a wall and not develop his jumper, handle any further but that's risk everybody takes. I'd say Barnes has been pretty underwhelming vs his talent. Sure that has to do with being on a really good GS team tho, and still young so could turn it around.

Wiggins has a 5 inch higher vertical than Barnes and their first steps aren't even comparable.

Why is Wiggins so much higher coming out of college than Barnes was?

Barnes had lots of hype, Wiggins had more. Barnes averaged like 16/6/1 his freshmen season and went back to school. Put up 17/5/1 the next season with obvious improvements but deff hurt his stock. I'm sure if Wiggins went back to school and didn't impress alot than he woulda slid too, not down to 7th overall because he's more athletic/talented but don't think he would have went 1st.

It's because people see very good to great two-way potential in Wiggins. I'm talking guys like MJ, Kobe, Wade, or Lebron. Im not saying he plays like those guys, but in the two-way sense many feel he can dominate eventually on both ends of the court. Barnes is potentially the pure scorer kind of SF mold like a Melo, Nique, or Bernard King. So basketball history shows u take the alpha dog who's ALSO a great all around player over the alpha dog who is at best a good all around player.

Barnes is more of a Derozan or Rudy Gay type athlete. They have the impressive measurements, and can obviously dunk out of the building, but they don't have the kind of mix of speed, power, jumping ability and quickness-type athleticism of a Tmac or MJ. That's what Wiggins has. The only thing holding back Wiggins right now is his lack of handles, which means he can't take as much advantage of his athleticism as he could have.
