RT @GwashburnGlobe: NBA source tells Globe that Ray Allen is leaning toward returning for 19th season and joining LeBron with #cavaliers
11:00 PM - 23 Jul 2014

This dude's legacy is plummeting with every beta move he makes. He has no self-respect or integrity. He's on Lebron's leash like a dog.

Reggie Miller > Ray Allen.

Period.

I don't get that move if he makes it.

There are other teams he could go to that are closer to a ship than Cleveland. Especially if they don't land Love.

Indy? Dallas? Hell could Chicago offer him a MLE? OKC? Houston? GS? POR?

Yeah Ray Allen isn't even close to Reggie Miller on the all time lists. Especially if he follows LeBron to Cleveland.

Reggie Miller is the greatest Pacer player ever. Ray Allen on the other hand is going to be remembered as what? A Buck? Celtic? Heat? Cav? I can't imagine Reggie Miller shamelessly following a superstar player around like this :facepalm :facepalm

This would be like Reggie joining the Bulls for their last ring and then following Jordan to Washington :lol

His first year there where he royally f*cked up in the finals is when they were stacked. After that, I admit he carried us through large chunks.

But this team is insane.

Kyrie/Dellavedova
Wiggins/Waiters/Allen
Bron/Miller/Jones
Thompson/Bennett
Varejao/Haywood

Come on... There hasn't been a better roster in the NBA for quite some time, and that will become more apparent once Wiggins turns out to be a stud, unlike what some people are willing to believe.
Seriously... Look at the depth of that team. And the starters are flat out amazing too.

Well on paper it has nice depth but the big IF is whether wiggins and Bennett can contribute right away and if TT continues to improve. A team of Love at PF with TT backing him up and waiters or Martin at SG with Allen backing up playing less minutes cause not backing up injury prone Wade..that team is sweet sign okafor on the cheap and that team is Beastly..

Irving/Delly
Waiters/Allen/Jones
Lebron/Miller/Jones
Love/TT
Andy V/Okafur

That team has potential but it's filled to the brim with "ifs" ... it's not like the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Heat with bankable talent, or proven former champions. This Cavs team is not the best roster in the league.

Kyrie's health
Wiggins quality
Bennett was trash last year
Waiters is a head case

Many question marks.

So a good PG in irving and a teenage rookie who's only useful for average/good defense is a great roster?

LeBron is playing with marginal scrubs not unlike his first 7 years in the league and whatever progress Cavs make from last year is a huge plus and beyond expectations. This is a 30 win team after all.

30 win team my ass. Half their team was injured last season. Andy comes back, Bennett will be fit and healthy from the get go, then you add Wiggins, then you add Miller, and Allen also coming in? Even without Bron they are a comfortable playoff team. Last season while blatantly tanking they won 33 games.

plowking and russwest on the same side agreeing with each other. Damn, who thought?

anyway, the team is talented but obviously way too many question marks and no experience at all. Basically Lebron has to trust guys like Waiters for example to go out and produce in a Eastern conference final.

Also, I think Ray Allen going to Cleveland has a lot to do with Cavs and Lebron wanting some veteran leadership in that mess of a locker room.

Wouldn't you say stacked in the East?

I mean...that team likely finishes 5th or 6th in the West...right?

If you switched the Blazers and Cavs in conferences (because I think they are similar strength teams in the regular season)...

I think the West would go something like;

Thunder
Spurs
Clippers
Warriors
Grizzlies
Cavs
Mavs
Rockets

After the top 3 it could go in any order honestly, but I think a team like the Warriors would definitely finish higher than the Cavs...assuming health. Also think people are really sleeping on the Grizzlies. They were basically a 56 win team when Marc Gasol was healthy last year. They've gotten better this year.

The West is super stacked.. any team could struggle to get a top 3 record out there this year. The spurs, mavs, thunder could be dynasties if they played out east right now.

So maybe I should clarify.. relative to their competition they are certainly stacked. The bulls are a ? w/o seeing how rose adjusts.. Indiana just lost their best offensive player and theyre already a team that blows on offense.. The Heat are the main competition now and we have no clue if wade can even make it through a whole season much less RS + playoffs.

I know you love odds.. arent the cavs at 3 to 1 right now champ favorites?? Theyre stacked to the brim. Youre adding a top 10 GOAT to a if healthy 40+ win team.. thats more help than most could ever ask for. And now theyre stacking it with vets/shooters/and possibly kevin love.. big upgrade at head coach. I dont know if they could get any better for a team that was just thrown together.

I think any Lebron team is top 3 in either conf.. Depending how Cavs shake out with Roster they could easily be a top 3 team in entire league.

Oh yes...I agree. I just was curious if you were saying they were like the best team in the league or something.

Which I definitely don't think they are close to that actually.

However, they basically have a free pass in the East to at least the Eastern finals...and it will only be tough if Rose is fully healthy.

And then they'd only have to beat 1 Western team.

So I totally agree...but my best guess would be that if they did make the finals and had to play the Spurs or Thunder...I think they just get smoked this year.

Also, everything changes with Love. If they get Love without completely gutting their team...and find a way to get another center next to Andy. They could win it all in year 1.

I think any Lebron team is top 3 in either conf.. Depending how Cavs shake out with Roster they could easily be a top 3 team in entire league.

But a Lebron team last year...playing in the far weaker East....would have finished 6th last year in the West. They had the same record as the 4th and 5th place teams in the West, but the East was easily more than 1 game easier than the West.

So...

If he won't get a ring at least I'd like to see him get over the 3000 mark of total 3s made. As some one already said, he is only 27 away from it.

They were coasting and Wade missed half of the season.. SO they did what they had to do.

Coasting? So were they coasting when they lost by the biggest scoring margin ever in the finals?

The Heat last year were not that good. Even when they weren't "coasting"...they were propped up by playing in a conference in which only one other team (the Pacers) would have even sniffed the playoffs in the West.

The point is simple. A Lebron led team is not a lock to get top 3 seed in a conference. Especially not the West...where they would have almost no chance in my opinion as presently constructed to have a better record than a healthy Thunder, Spurs, Clippers, or Warriors teams.

He was

Of course he was. He was jealous of all the attention the other stars were getting and was jumping around. First he promised to win a "ring for the king" in Cleveland, and then jumped over to Boston after the Cavs got beat up by them to win a ring as he stated as well.

Lebron brings players out of retirement.

Must be nice to play with someone with elite vision who can get you a few easy wide open three pointers every game.

Makes sense for both ray and cavs, idk why people are hating on this, f*ck that beta/alpha talk, a chance to win another ring is priceless.
In this world, it's winning at all cost. Whether you like it or not. If they don't like it then fvck em let them lose.
