View Full Version : Your personal favorite non all star

Self explanatory. Who is your favorite player who hasn't made an all-star game? Why do you like them? Let's hype some normal players up instead of just hating on stars.

I'm a big fan of Brad Beal personally. His jumper is beautiful and he's built like a tank. He moves off the ball well (although he needs to improve his endurance imo) and has shown flashes of a killer mentality and clutch cajones.

Eric "The Magician" Gordon.

He's the Magician, b/c he made a max contract appear out of thin air.

Andre Miller.

Always liked him but his two seasons in Portland really made me love him. Wish he could of been here longer. Was a good starting PG for us. Will never forget the day when he dropped 50+ on the Mavs either :oldlol:

Jimmy butler.

Love how he plays defense, particularly on lebron. The guy oozes effort and unselfishness, he is a really nice role player for the bulls.

Aside from basketball, he has overcome some harsh life struggles to get where he is.

I <3 Dre! I liked him before he was on the wiz and then he saved us against the Bulls in the playoffs. He played balls out for 15 minutes to the point where he was dry heaving at center court. The dude literally gave everything he had for the team. I was inspired.

Goran Dragic is another guy I like but he should have been an all star last year. He's got the perfect blend of fearlessness, crafty play, and skill.

Monta Ellis is another guy I'll always tune in to watch.

I almost said David West but CP3 got him 2 all star bids. David West is one of the most physical and mentally tough players I have ever seen. He's just mean as hell and relishes silencing the crowd when they're away. He's destroyed my Wiz late in games multiple times, once when I had seats right behind the pacers bench.

Jamal Crawford. His dribbling and ball handling and pull ups jumpers (2s and 3s alike) are fun to watch. He is somewhat a black hole on offense but there is no pretense about him. He doesn't walk around thinking he's some MJ or kobe. He likes to score and genuinely enjoys playing. Though his winning desire is not necessarily at the same level as his enjoyment of playing.

and plus he is from Seattle and so am I.

Yeah Andre was a pain in the ass when we played you guys, but he played with heart and grit which I respect :applause:

We could faceoff again this year, should be a good battle

I want Rose to come back healthy so we can get a classic playoff duel out of him and Wall.

I love my Wiz but I love good basketball more. Hate to see great players get hurt.

Its great to see a struggling club for the most part come good for their fans:applause:

Beal will be even better, same with wall. Then you add pierce in the fray...The series would be an epic one

Captain Kirk is the man. It hurt a little to watch Wall and Beal steal his soul at the end of that playoff series last year. He looked so dejected:(

I was a sophomore at Pitt when Steven Adams was a freshman, the house I lived in was across a patio from his dorm and 2 minutes away from the stadium. Ran into him all the time; he wasn't your prototypical entitled college athlete, he was always very polite and joking around with whoever was around. Gonna enjoy watching him for years to come

That's really awesome. Most ball players at my university play in low level leagues in Europe, mostly Eastern European teams. They are also very down to earth, they don't play pickup games with us but they do joke around with people while they get their own portion of the gym to shoot around. They also take school seriously and it is evident. I'm also pretty sure their team GPA is pretty high. A former NBA player graduated with a 3.7 and most players on the team seem like serious students.

He's definitely becoming a fan favorite with his competitive attitude and the way he plays the game. So smart, crafty and in control.

That's sweet, what was the NBA players name?

Pitt's basketball culture is great that way and I guess it's a testament to Jamie Dixon and the rest of the coaching staff. During the last lockout it was the start of my freshman year, and me and my buddy go to shoot some hoops and who's on the court playing pickup but DeJuan fvckin Blair. Same deal, acted like any regular dude real casual until he threw a self oop off the backboard, didn't know he had that in him haha

Chuck Hayes

It's kinda right there in my title. He's someone I kinda grew up with, although he's older than me so it's not like we grew up together. But he lived a couple houses down from my cousins, I was always at my cousins, so I was always around Chuck.

His family is still there so from time to time he comes back and we get to chill a moment. They're good people.
