LMFAO could you imagine the Clippers not dressing for their first few games because Donald Sterling is still lingering around in operations
**** the Clippers. Even when they have a built team and good coach they can't catch a break :lol
Where's ClippersFan86 at?
Who are they boycotting? The NBA, which has pretty much put everything in motion that they could? Their fans, who will completely get ****ed over? Themselves, who will have their playoff possibilities nerfed?
It can't be Sterling, dude is nuts and/or senile, do they think he gives two ****s if they don't show up and lose games and how he looks? A boycott basically hurts everyone except Sterling. It's also a big FU at everything the NBA has tried to do, why should they try so hard if the players have their own unhelpful agenda.

Weird situation.
If nothing is resolved, does that mean potentially they could sit out all year? :lol

Good for the players from the Los Angeles Clippers along with their head coach talking about taking action to address this raving lunatic of an owner who seems intent to drag this through one lawsuit after another. This could go on for years if Donald Sterling has his way.
Not only should the players and coaches threatened to boycott, the rest of their corporate sponsors should pull away from the franchises well until this is resolved. Some have already done so.
They should just contract the clippers. A team with no history or prestige and most NBA fans wouldn't care all that much if they disappeared off the face of the earth the next day.

But this guy is OK with shuckin and jivvin as a house negro in insurance adverts.
Silver, the NBA, Clippers players still need to be called out for lying about not knowing Sterling's history.
If a bunch of nobodies like us on ISH knew about his history, how does a couple of hundreds of multi-millionaires didn't know?
Now all the sudden, the masses, the non-NBA/non-sports people know about his history too and they're gonna start acting like a bunch of noble freedom fighters or something? GTFO here with that bullshhht.....They let Sterling to continue his "racist" ways for over a decade.

all the players become free agents, Blake goes to Cleveland, LeBron still wants more help.
Isn't that some sort of breach of contract by refusing to play?
But yeah, Clips fans will be thrilled their team is chilling at the crib instead of playing in the game they bought tickets to.

Even well before that TMZ incident, I too knew about DTS's bigotry and thought he should have been out (since that story about baron Davis getting heckled by DTS circa 2003).
But somehow everything was fine and dandy as stern let him run his joke franchise.
But hey...players are/were getting paid their millions to buy their toys and mansions so as long as they were happy with that they kept quiet.

Exactly my point, man. You, me, everybody NBA fan knew about his history. We don't have inside connection, first-hand sources like they do either. How do they not know about Sterling's past. THEY KNEW!
If they would admit that they enabled Sterling to continue his racist ways for over a decade, then maybe we can actually respect their fight. But this is some PR bullshhht theyre doing, acting they're victims or some shit.

No one is gonna sit out. They're trying to force the league to get scared and do some strong-arm tactic stuff with Sterling. I'm not even sure that's possible.
But as many have pointed out, Sterling had a history of bigotry. Why sign there if it apparently means so much to you? Also, as Bagel pointed out, have none of them (Clippers) ever said anything offensive while in private?
This is a total non-story and non-issue.

Too right.
CP3 looks like a despicable person here. He didn't bat an eyelash when he signed on for 5 years and 100millions. Sterling had already solidified his rep as a scumbag through several highly publicized incidents. I suspect he's manipulating public opinion by shifting focus away from his own failures on the court to the evil racist white man.

Paul is bluffing. They aren't going to boycott.
And if so, why stop there? Why not give back all the money the Clippers paid you because after all, it was still Donald Sterling that owned the team - you're paying your bills with "racist" money.
In actuality, Chris Paul will be fine financially if he boycotts.
But what about the dudes at the end of the bench making the minimum. You really think those guys want to do the same? How will this boycotting affect them and their families?
The whole thing is a big joke, from Adam Silver, to the Sterlings, to the Lebron's and Chris Pauls talking about "boycotting."

CP3 is one of the biggest racists in the NBA that little hooker.
But he keeps taking the pay check because hes all talk. I would have a shred of respect if he said cancel each paycheck, not put on hold, CANCEL each one until hes out. That shows some actual balls.
Demands black coach or he wont play, refuses to play for owner who asks GF to not take photos with black men. Something seems a bit off in this game of "im an entitled douche."

good for cp3, its the only position he can take here honestly...this forum turns out to be just as racist (or stupid) as any other US dominated forum i know...its not like were dealing here with a person who made a politically incorrect statement (as some have suggested) or stinking shit that everyone has, what we have seen clearly showed a person who values black people less then whites (he also proved that while trying to defend his statement); any institution, like the nba, shud distance them from him and certainly every black person (as well as every person that isn't a racist) in that organization shud choose not to work for this organization as long a the head of it is a well known racist.

Glad for him. Throughout history people have stood up against hatred and bigotry. People will call him names and say whatever they want. Fact is, the guy is standing up for his rights as a human being. The right not to want to play for a racist, bigoted owner who views you as nothing more than a slave.
Sterling should have been out of the league. We can look at the past and say, "Well, they should have known this or that." Doesn't matter. What matters is, now, they are taking a stand and will not tolerate Sterling any longer.
It's over for Sterling in the NBA and a message is sent to any other racist, bigot owner, etc. League will not tolerate it any longer.

It's not about being still mad. It's about finishing the job. Before, Sterling counted own the league's willingness to forget and sweep his actions under the rug. He counted on the players, coaches, etc to cash their checks and never utter a word about his racist and bigoted ways.
Sterling's time has come. Now he faces the end game.

I think we have to also consider how the players feel when they are surrounded by the Clippers staff and etc.
If it really becomes miserable enough, I wouldn't nessecarily say they are trying to be activist, but their ability to even cashing in those checks is at question here.
Are the Clippers players potentially the victim here as well?
If everyone treats it as if some old man shouting and not knowing what he is talking about anymore. Then we may as well say the society has ruled him to be mentally ill, since his employees are directly violating his orders.

It has been a well known fact for about 30 years that Sterling is a bigoted racist. CP3 knew it in New Orleans and he knew it when he signed his fat extension in LA. For him to just now try to 'make a stand' is just an attempt to make himself look good. He isn't going to boycott a game and miss a paycheck, just like how in the playoffs how his 'boycott' was to turn his shirt inside out :oldlol:
This is all a marketing ploy.
