you make it sound like he's never won a MVP.

not that Nash is only about 3.5-4 years older than Kobe

Nash doesn't deserve either MVP.

One is Shaq's (Miami) and the other is between Dirk/LeBron/Duncan/Kobe.

Voting for Nash was the stupidest thing ever, and it makes the record books look weak, devaluing the trophy.

Nash has a....pretty good team...that won 54 while leaning on him without Amare. Kobe had a bad team that barely made the playoffs leaning on him to do all the scoring.

Its generally harder to make an ok team great than a bad team average.

You just don't get MVP for like 45 wins no matter what your PPG is. And he wasn't even second. Lebron probably was. Lebron or Dirk.

Kobe was 4th or 5th.

Guards just ran wild that year. AI put up 33/7 with a couple steals on 45% shooting.

Unusual season.

Prime Shaq lost to AI and prime MJ lost to Malone.
Its a seriously biased award and the criteria changes from year to year. The media members will give a higher vote influenced by personal preference.

With that said guys like Shaq and Kobe and AI only have 1 each because they are not the most media likable guys.

Regular season MVP is ultimately meaningless because it's nothing more than a popularity contest with the media. Or in the case of MJ and LeBron, it's "hey we've voted for this guy for years it's getting old we need someone else". Hence Karl Malone and Derrick Rose.
