I understand Mike Brown had a four time MVP and DAntoni had a two time MVP but even so, a guy who got one sympathy MVP should be able to do better with proven coaches than a seventh seed dont you think???

Is it possible Kobe isnt as important as people think? Remember those Walton/Odom/Kwame casts always had a higher win % when Kobe shot the ball less..

Kobe just is not as good as Nash and Lebron who both have twice and 4 times the number of MVPs than Kobe. That is why they could not win 60+ with Kobe.

Just proves how pathetic Kobe's career really is. He is handed the most stacked team of all time in 2012, then proceeds to get one time Head Coach of the Year Mike Brown fired after just 5 games! :biggums:
What a joke.

This is honestly pretty incredible to think about when put that succinctly. GOAT big-four by resume in the last 20 years, and a CotY winner... And Kobe cant figure how to win with it.

And then his annoying stans wanna claim Kobe "carried a bunch of losers" to the playoffs. :facepalm
I guess guys like Nash, Howard, Gasol, Jamison, and Meeks are all scrubs who had no business ever being in the NBA.
The funniest part is that Kobe didn't carry anyone to the playoffs, the refs did! There are numerous youtube videos outlining all the ridiculous ref favoritism the Lakers received in crucial games down the stretch of that season. I'm sorry, but anyone who needs ref help to make the playoffs with multiple Hall of Famers by his side is NEVER approaching my top 25.

oh the horror

A former "coty winner" who has been recently fired from a shit Cleveland team and now will probably not coach again as a head coach in this league.

You guys need to stop.

Coaches always get fired from shit teams, theyre the fall guys.

But on good teams theyre supposed to win. How come they can win with Bran and Nash but not Kibe???

Style is very important.

Look at Gary Payton for example. Top 10 PG of all time. He admittedly had a lot of trouble adapting to the triangle offense.

You're comparing Kobe to players who are far more efficient than him, thus he requires other 'efficient' pieces in order to succeed. In all fairness to Kobe he is far better than Nash and Lebron at other things.

But in fairness to Bran and Nash theyve won six combined MVPs to kibe's one sympathy mvp and are better overall players.

Kobe's ratio of championships to MVPs is 5:1, that's a better ratio than the other 2 combined of 2:6

Call it what you want, but championships are more satisfying than MVP awards. What say you?

Mike Brown and D'Antoni required players that could orchestrate plays themselves. Kobe isn't really the orchestrating type. Kobe shoots, that's it.

on both their 60 win teams, both D'Antoni and Mike Brown had players in Lebron and Nash who knew exactly how to run the floor and find their teammates. it makes for very easy coaching.
