Wade was asked who his favorite player to battle on the hardwood and wasn't shy in his response.

"Well, it used to be Kobe Bryant... the second best all time.... now, I have a new favorite player to play against... my former teammate, LeBron James."

I don't really see it has a shot though. More like a friendly challenge or goal that he has set.

Like when you play against your friends you want to beat them for bragging rights.

There's nothing wrong with being competitive. This is how it should have been the whole time. F'ck the collision era.

Reading too much into what he said. This is why athletes give generic answers. Everything they say is under a microscope and then twisted to fit some agenda.

What?? It's not even a shot against Lebron. I actually did enjoyed their rivalry. Maybe Wade is going to stop being lazy in the regular season.

That's not a shot at LeBron at all. You always want to compete hardest against your brother. As far as the Kobe comment, Wade has always had a temendous amount of respect for him and vice versa. That's why I thought the broken nose thing at the all star game was overblown. Those guys are competitors.

lol i'm kidding nothing ESPN says during the offseason is interesting except trades. They take one sentence and either blow it out of proportion or totally out of context. Damn so many Lebron fanboys caving in with him actually making a smart FA decision and Kobe/Lakers being hurt.

He obviously meant at the shooting guard position, and if anything it was probably a dig at Kobe, knowing how competitive he is and reminding peeps he'll always be in MJs shadow

Are you kidding me? All he said was he wanted to play against LeBron. They're now former teammates and elite players. You think Kobe didn't love to go against Shaq? You think Dirk didn't love going at Nash, etc.?

Sounds like you're the sore one here, taking shots at a guy for being competitive. :confusedshrug:

I actually wonder what a 1v1 between Wade and Lebron would look like.

Have people forgotten how great some of the games were between Wade and LeBron before he left Cleveland? Wade needs to fix his damn knees though.

It's not a shot against LeBron, at all.. But he said Kobe is the 2nd greatest ever? (Maybe SG wise, probably) Wow.. Well maybe it is, then.. Considering he has MJ as GOAT.

I'm sure he knows that LeBron always wanted to be better than Kobe. Think 2006 - 2009...

He's obviously refering to KObe as the 2nd best SG ever, not player:oldlol: Wade has said that about Kobe numerous time.

The thing about the quote is that it has the ... so I don't know if it was part of a longer quote. Why cause that confusion? To create controversy? He could have been saying the 2nd greatest shooting guard of all time.

The link does not say anything about Shooting Guard.

It's of course Interesting that Wade considers Kobe the second best of all time

Retards here are reaching. If he didn't specify shooting guard, then he meant what he said...ALL TIME. And saying Kobe being second to Jordan is somehow a dig a Kobe? People here are projecting like an AMC right now.

Lebron vs Wade actually had more epic duels than either bron-kobe, or wade-kobe. Anyone remember their 2006 matchup when they both went off for 40+?
