Jordan's all time steals would be lower without Pippen. Pippen helped Jordan get more steals. these two trapped ball handlers mercilessly. Jordan could gamble for the passing lanes because Pippen had his back.

That would appear to be a somewhat fair analysis if the opposite wasn't true.

As it has been pointed out, MJ had more steals without Pip or while Pip was playing small minutes. So actually evidence shows that MJ would have MORE steals without Pip.

I do agree that Pip made the Bulls a defensive nightmare.

But MJ was more than fine by himself.
