agreed. With those kind of stacked teams anything less then a 5-peat is a bust.

Miami won 2 rings out of 4. Lebron's quote also is cut off and he said that "if they play well and mesh well" that they can win not 6, not 7 championships.

So...

- 2009 Cavs
- 2008 - 2013 Celtics acted like they won multiple championships
- 2012 Knicks (or whenever it was that they got Carmelo and thought they had a contender)
- 2013 Lakers...LOL...no need to explain
- the current Bulls have talked way more than they have walked
- current Pacers

How on earth could that team not win a ring? I know Malone was hobbled in the Finals, and GP was well past his prime. But damn, that team is still stacked.

Prince should be in that picture as he helped cause Kobe to have the greatest chucking performance of all time.

Answered your own question right there. Add in the Shaq-Kobe feud finally boiling over and Kobe's shooting performance in the Finals, it's not as shocking as it seems.

The Heat losing to the Mavs in 2011 is much more inexplicable. Three all stars in their prime losing with HCA, especially after the way they knocked off the Celtics & Bulls in 5 games, is simply unbelievable.

This was more the reason to be honest. Shaq / Kobe alone both still in their primes should've been enough to get it done. Kobe played relentessly selfish, and settled for jumpers with Prince's long arms all over him.

The same way ...

The Heat losing to the Mavs in 2011
Is pathetic as well.

Bron, and Wade not just in their primes but both very close to their peaks yet still not being able to pull it out ... LeBron played relentlessly passive, and didn't even attempt to put his stamp on games with old Jason Kidd, or Shawn Marion all over him.

The 2004 Lakers, and 2011 Heat are both dirty, disgusting brown skid marks on the resumes of: Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, and Wade.

Not to discredit the 2004 Pistons, or 2011 Mavericks. Both were very good teams. But those Heat, and Laker squads were GREAT teams led by multiple duos of HOFers, with quality role players around them.

Both these Finals define the only flaws in both Kobe, and LeBron. Either over aggression, or under aggression.

I agree with everything you said but this. It's not like those are celebrated seasons for Shaq & Wade, but they both played well in the Finals and did more than enough to win, especially with the help they were supposed to get. They were letdown big time by Kobe's chucking & LeBron's inexplicable disappearing act

Rockets of this past season.

Celebrating the acquisition of Dwight Howard like they were on their way to a title (not unlike what the Heat did in 2010). Then bow out of the POs in the first round just like 2013.

James har_en as 1 of their cornerstone players who doesn't play defense...

...with the other 1 who wants touches and yet is an incompetent post up player.

I guess the footage of their welcome party and proclamation of 8 straight titles was destroyed then

no pun intended
