View Full Version : The GOATiest Number?

NumberSix

Now that LeBron has gone back to #23, I'd say it's the GOATiest number.

1. 23 (Jordan, LeBron)
2. 33 (Kareem, Bird, Pippen)
3. 32 (Magic, Shaq, Malone)

Do you agree 23 is the GOATiest number, and what are some others.

Several others there are also not worth mentioning in a "GOAT" related thread.

33 also has Ewing, Zo,

34 not too bad either. Has one of the GOAT Peaks in LAL Shaq, has Hakeem, has Top 3 PF in Barkley, has one of the GOAT shooters in Ray Allen and also has one of the baddest Mofos to ever step foot in the NBA in X-Man McDaniels.

Just wanted to list most of the all star players, not just top tier greats. Amare did put up 26/9/2/2/1 on 62% TS before, with an 8 season run of 23/9/2/2/1 on 61% TS..

Either 32 or 33 are the GOAT. Too many legends and greats to choose otherwise. Then follow 34, 23 and 6 (Bill Russell, Julius Erving, Miami's LeBron, Walter Davis).

It's evident that numbers ending in 0-5 are vastly more popular than numbers ending in 6-9.

As a random fact, it's interesting that, apart from number (single) 0, the smallest number that no team has ever retired is...#8. Kobe had made a good choice of a number to build his own legacy and shouldn't have changed it, imo.

I'm pretty sure he was mentioning Amare there because of him being unlucky with injuries.
