I live outside of Atlanta and it's all about the Braves, UGA, and racing (not necesarilly in that order). For whatever reason there just isn't much interest in basketball and even pro football to an extent.

Falcons are extremely popular when they are winning. Probably the most popular. Last year there was minimal buzz due to all the injuries and the bad season. The Hawks are definitely the least popular of the major teams in Georgia.

I honestly do not expect anything to change as it's been so long. They will never get a franchise draft pick when they stay in the middle of the pack. Part of the issue is lack of quality FA that will willingly go to the Hawks. But they honestly won't ever be elite until they decide to truly rebuild.

last time we tried that we ended up with a core of joe johnson, al horford, josh smith, and marvin williams....since then we have been in the playoff every year.

you dont just say **** it and rebulid, if you do that you end up like the kings, bucks, hornets(teams who have been trying to rebuild forever). You keep winning and competing and eventually more players will want to come and play for that team. You also have good scouts who can draft great players for your organization no matter what pick you have. You build a respectable winning foundation.

atlanta is doing everything right with what they have. the only thing that sucks is the fanbase.
