Funny thing bout that pic,.i got that picture on A shirt when I met tyson.I had him sign a glove, and had him sign authentic old school everlast trunks. He came up and told me he just turned 17 in that pic..people were laughing and clowing each other that he would be first 17 y/o that could easily whoop any grown ass man in this building..He was cool and humble that day.

I say Clubber Lang. I mean c'mon...all the Rocky fighters could take some serious punches......and a lot of them too.

Prime Tyson > Anyone
Prime ali would scramble Tyson's brain
I've watched footage of both and Tyson seems to have superior technique. It is almost like Tyson trained for many years and Clubber just trained long enough to fake box.

ehhhhhh debatable. Prime Tyson vs. Prime Rocky Marciano is also debatable.
I tend to agree.
But prime Lang defeated Rocky Maivia, pretty much the consensus GOAT.
Rocky also had poor technique. Heck, he would allow free haymakers to the head. Not exactly the brightest boxer. Rocky lost because he was a stupid fighter with poor technique.

Lang is a fictional character who was designed to destroy ANYONE except for Rocky

On a serious note, i'ts very hard to rank Tyson. His prime is largely untested and his mental state of mind is questionable.
Lang is a fictional character who was designed to destroy ANYONE except for Rocky
so...Lang
and ya..plot armor is the best defense.

You don't even have to go that far back. Prime Lennox and Prime (or past prime, as we saw) Holyfield beat Tyson into bolivion.

Lennox was still fighting amateurs in Seoul when Tyson was in his prime.

Prime Foreman vs Prime Tyson?

Isn't Clubber Lang character made around George Foreman? A power puncher with decent speed would be able to deal with Tyson's rush.
Clubber (Mr T) is 5'10. He'd look up at a Tyson, who was pretty short for a heavyweight himself.
Slow, lumbering power punchers like Foreman are usually built a lot bigger (Foreman is 6'4").

Tyson was fighting tomato cans when he was in his prime. Dude was also a mental midget who would break down whenever the guy in the opposite corner wasn't intimidated by his rep, ring walk, etc.
Holyfield, Lennox>>>Tyson, and both proved it. Multiple times in Evander's case.

Damn I didn't know Foreman was that tall. I always thought he was 6'0 or under

I've heard these excuses before. Tyson unified the belts, which means he fought everyone that was good out there. The few fighters he couldn't KO, he decisioned in overwhelming landslide fashion. It's not his fault Lewis was still fighting as an amateur in 1988. It's not his fault Holyfield was a cruiserweight either. Tyson eats both of them for breakfast pre-1992.

What was Tyson doing post 92 that was any different than pre 92? :confusedshrug:
Before '92- Knocking out tomato cans in 1-3 rounds before getting KO'ed by a tall, skilled (although B- level) fighter.
After '92- Knocking out tomato cans in 1-3 rounds before getting KO'ed by a tall, skilled fighter.
I think Bowe would've beaten Tyson too, but they didn't fight because Mike 'liked him' too much.

Even Tony Tucker gave Tyson problems.
What year was that? 1987 (Tyson's "prime")
Who was his trainer at that time? The nostalgically highly regarded Kevin Rooney (The only other man besides Cus who supposedly was "able to keep Tyson disciplined")

Clubber Lang only had that overhand right and the dreaded single head-bob AFTER getting hit. Iron Mike hands down, no pun intended
