First of all this should be in the Knicks forum. Because as a Knick fan even i don't give much of a ****.

And no, he's our starting 2G and our backup 3. (or opposite if it makes you happy). It's very possible in some lineups we can go all three SG's but Shump isn;t that good a ballhandler and he doesn't make quick decisions on offense. Plus he's not a dead on spot up shooter.

So no, he's not.

Actually this is the type of discussion that would make the board better, like it was 10 years ago. An actual discussion about skill sets and how they fit into an offense should not ben shunned. They definately shouldnt be shunned by someone who knows nothing about the triangle offense, as evidenced by the above post.

Iman shumpert sucks, thought he was going to be legit. Dude can't finish, handles aren't that good, poor jump shot and his defense hasn't been all that good. He had a lot of opportunities last year but he just blowed, sucks that he's from oak park. Seems like he regressed every year :facepalm

Although he is not the type of player we would normally view as a pg this idea does have some merit. Don't forget that Ron Harper was the starting PG for the Bulls in a 3-peat. Jackson's triangle teams only had one playmaker at PG, Gary Payton, and he was a poor fit that struggled to contribute consistently. Age was also a factor but his statistics nose-dived in LA.

Shumperts best advantages physically alway come at the 1.

Such great match ups for shumpert as a pg

He can certainly defend pgs but I wouldn't expect much on the other end of the floor.

no pun intended

I rather have Shumpert at the 3 if they are running the triangle. He could develop into a 3 and D player. Only problem is that the Knicks are lacking at the 2 if they use Shumpert elsewhere.

PG: Calderon/Larkin/Prigioni
SG: Smith/Ellington
SF: Shumpert/Early
PF: Anthony/Bargnani/Martin
C: Stoudemire/Dalembert/Aldrich

I am more thinking just because of the amount of times he posts it rather than the subject itself.
