It is. They lost Stephenson, Hibbert needs a heart transplant and now they lose their best player for possibly the whole season? They aren't even a playoff team barring a miracle. Awful luck.

It must tough to be a Pacers fan right now
They were confident on winning the championship early last season and they had to go through PG and Hibbert losing their game, Lance going to the Hornets and now this.
That's like the Lakers in 13'

I couldn't imagine what a turn of events like this would be like if it happened to the Bulls...
I wish PG a speedy recovery and I promise to go easy on any Indy fans on ISH.
I know Dro and InspiredLebowski must be devastated by what's happening lately...
Doesn't take a genius to know that was a career-ender. Sure, it will be repaired but it will never be the same and it will always be in the back of his mind... :(

this has to be karma for trading granger, like 100% has to be. the team fell apart once he was shipped

He is young enough to bounce back from this. He is a tall, lengthy, skilled player who can shoot and defend. Those are the things that made him special and they are not going anywhere with this injury. Yes, he was very athletic and he might not come back as athletic, but by further polishing the other aspects of his game he can become an even better basketball player (like most hard working players do as they get older and lose some of their athleticism, e.g., Jordan and Kobe). This is not the end of PG or the Pacers.
And today's my b-day too.........Happy b-day to me huh.......

And the one thing I'll say is that even though he is athletic, his game on the court is smooth and refined. He doesn't do a lot of herky jerky stuff and hopsteps like that where you see players getting hurt....Or a player like Wade who relied on his athleticsm so long and when it declines, has to bring his game down to more of a floor/fundamental level. If anything, I was asking for him to be more explosive in the half court...

No way around it... it effin' sucks. Pacers were SO close...
Best case scenario is that some how they just run the entire offense through West and Hibbert and those guys are consistent enough every night and hopefully the shooters like Miles, Hill, and Copeland can fill in around them enough to get them an 8# seed which would be great for team confidence/chemistry for the following season for when PG comes back. I think those aspects are underrated and more important than getting a high draft pick.....

As brutal as the injury looked, it's good that it is mainly bone and no extensive damage to the soft tissue. Here's hoping PG makes a full recovery

No matter how much I dislike a team or a player I'd never wish anything like this on them. Feel really sorry for PG, a great player cut down in his prime.

Yeah if its as clean a s people have been saying he can come back physically ok, just depends on the rehab and the mental side.

The injury is visually gruesome, but considering what we've heard about it recently (no ligament/tendon damage, clean break), it's better than other serious injuries like ACL tears or Achilles ruptures. PG has a ton of work ahead of him and the mental hurdle he'll face is a very real thing, but he's got the attitude and work ethic to overcome this...should be 100%.
