Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh doesn't go into the post nearly as much as he used to. In fact, it's pretty rare that you see the Heat running post-up plays for Bosh. Much more of his attempts come from pick-and-roll plays or spot-up jumpers, despite him being the biggest guy on the team. There's a reason Bosh no longer posts up all that much too; it's to conserve energy for other parts of the game.
Bosh told the media after Saturday's shootaround that he doesn't "bang anymore," because he has to conserve energy and it's not a strength of his.
The only way Heat center Chris Bosh will see himself playing in the post again is by watching old highlight videos.
Bosh made it even clearer Saturday his days of living on the block are gone.
As in R.I.P to his post game.
"I don't bang anybody anymore," Bosh said. "It's a tired thing for me. It's not my strength and I understand that."
It doesn't help Bosh is playing at a heavier weight than when he entered the league in 2003.
"Just playing at an elite level, you play better defenders," Bosh said. "It gets tiring. What they ask us to do, to blitz the screen and roll, every single one, close out and get back. I wasn't this same weight. I was already 20-30 pounds lighter than anybody else. All that stuff just takes my energy."

and people have the nerve to say LBJ turned Bosh into a jumpshooter:oldlol: :coleman:
For 120 million he better start up again.

He was refering to his role at that time which will clearly be different next year. I'm not saying he'll turn into a low post bruiser but I certainly expect he'll alter his game to a degree.

Bosh was never really a banger though. He's a face up player like Lamarcus Eldridge of the Blazers. The only thing he did different in Miami was shooter more 3's.

What's the starting line-up going to be?
Chalmers
Wade
Deng
McRoberts
Bosh
Bosh expected to stay down low and battle?

At age 35+, Michael Jordan was posting up players the majority of the game. How is posting player up more tiring than trying to face to face someone

Yeah, I don't understand why they're still planning to run Bosh at center. Small ball is not going to work without LeBron. Defense is where he'll be missed the most, as I have my doubts about whether Wade can be a defensive anchor at this stage.
I'd rather play Bosh at PF and Birdman at C and bring McJesus off the bench, although that wouldn't leave any room for Haslem.
On paper, the best thing about the Heat is that they're a tough team, Bosh's softness notwithstanding. These are guys you'd bring to a street fight.
Besides the small ball issue, the other thing that concerns is the lack of 3 pt. shooting on the team. It's gonna be interesting, but at least it's gonna be interesting again. It hasn't been for a long time.

Honestly Bosh can put up 24/11 or whatever his numbers were back in Toronto but it won't matter if Wadr isn't his old self or at least his 2011 self.

Anyone else get the feeling that Bosh and Wade got too complacent/lazy when they played with Bron?
No longer did they have the brunt of the blame, they could hide beneath the spotlight, and all the pressure fell on LeBron
Wade started getting out of shape, putting on weight, and forgetting how to shoot
Bosh started getting complacent and just chucking 3's and stopped rebounding or posting up
Now that Bron is gone they dont have the luxury anymore, and thus Wade's trying to lose weight and get back in shape, and now there is pressure for Bosh to stop being such a P*ssy. They know that the expectation is on them

Like Lebron said years ago, he spoils people with his play. His greatness over the last 4 years led to the Heat being a very successful team, even when Wade and Bosh were playing like scrubs throughout the 2013 playoffs. In some ways I don't even blame them for getting lazy, I mean it would be hard not to be. They both knew that if the team lost 90 percent of the blame would be placed on Lebron. Bosh would get a little criticism, but not much because no one really thinks he's that good to begin with. Wade had the best deal out of the 3 of them. If he played good he was a Champion who was proving the doubters wrong, and if he played like shit it was only because he was "injured."
Lebron knew he had spoiled Wade and Bosh too much, which is part of the reason why he left. Lebron can't stay in one place too long, cause if he does his teammates just get lazy and expect him to carry them.

so 18 7 and 7 on 47% shooting in 6 games is being compared to Bosh averaging 12 ppg and wade averaging 15 ppg for the ENTIRE 2013 playoffs?

I think Bosh now will go all out because he got his money, what else is there to prove for him? Get back in the post and start banging some dudes!

Back to the basket, backing down to the rim was never his game.
His game was post up, turn, face, shoot a MID RANGE or close range shot or drive to the basket.

He's gonna get paid regardless, but Miami having success without Lebron would be a much better story.

I don't know about 20/10, I think probably 18/8 or so would be doable. There is some natural decline to be expected now that he's 30 and put on a lot of miles on his legs.
If he was 26 again, I'd say no doubt.

I still remember that time Bosh scored 40 points on Dwight Howard in Toronto. He is going to average atleast 20 a game this year, no doubt.

Bosh is a shooter, he will probably have the most longevity between Bran, Bosh and Wade. I wouldn't expect his offensive game to decline till he is about 35.

yes I agree. Stephen A Smith has mentioned that lebron was pissed that he was getting taxed physically while wade would be ready pre-game and then all of a sudden they would sit him out:oldlol:

18/10 won't be bad on about roughly 34 minutes per game
I can't see him going back to being a one way player instead of being a two way player now.
just don't overrate him when he becomes one of those player who plays better in the playoffs because he's learned to pace himself.

God people really don't seem to understand big man play. Bosh was never a banger. He's best in the high/mid post because he has an unblockable and accurate mid range jumper like dirk and LMA. That+ his quickness makes him a great faceup player out of the triple threat.
