I think so. It's a shame his team sucks and he has to carry it every night

Yeah, he is. He doesn't give a single shit about the attention he gets either which is great.

He's not alpha he's just extremely fast and athletic and just chucks and drives alot. so it comes off as ruthless and cold blooded.

Then how come he never gets any criticism for "not winning anything"? He hasn't even made an All NBA 1st team.

Kobe is the most alpha until he retires.

He's alpha in a way because even though he's next to the best scorer in the league he will still take the most shots on the team. He's never deferring.

The All NBA team is reputation based. Everyone has their mind made up about Westbrook and what type of player they think he is. Yet in OKC, everyone here LOVES him. Durant has called him his "favorite teammate ever" and told him during his MVP speech, "everyone here loves you." Brooks, Presti, every player here, etc, they all love Westbrook. Even the young guys on the team like Lamb have talked about how inspired they are to become a two way player after getting locked up by Westbrook and then having him dominate them on the other end as well.

And besides, who cares if he doesn't make first team All NBA so long as he is doing things like last year where he was the best player in the entire NBA Playoffs. :confusedshrug:

I actually have to agree with Russ on this one. All NBA teams (along with allstar appearances) are pretty much a joke - they're just popularity contests.

If he's such an alpha, why doesn't he get criticized for his "lack of accomplishments"? Where are all the ringless jokes?

Pretty much. It's a farce that people even consider accolades when evaluating players.

Westbrook is a ****ing beast.

Young X

So far, he has 0 rings, 0 MVP's, 0 1st team selections, 0 defensive team selections, never lead the league in any category besides turnovers, never even started in an All Star game or been player of the month. If he's so alpha where is the criticism for his "lack of accomplishments"?

Westbrook is a ****ing beast.

It's just hilarious to me.

The media tries so hard to stir bullshit about Westbrook being a bad teammate or whatever, yet you can't find even ONE bad thing EVER said about him from any of his teammates, coaches, or colleagues.

Even Kevin Martin in Minnesota said that Westbrook (and Durant) is consistently showing up like 3 to 4 hours early to every single practice. And Martin went on to say that no other guys in the NBA are doing that, and it's not even close. Durant has talked a few times about how Westbrook would always beat him to practice his first year in OKC and how it would offend him :lol

When Presti was having his press conference after trading Harden, in one part he talked about how he was sitting in the stands watching Westbrook work with one of the coaches or something, and he basically went on and on about how hard Westbrook works at improving his game and how he knew we were in good hands (taking a shot a Harden's work ethic?) with him and Durant running the show.

The way he dresses is just him expressing himself and showing fully his "I don't give a ****" attitude. You never see the guy try to draw any media attention to himself or ever go out of his way to get any type of press. It's all people just infatuated with how alpha he is, really.

I really think people confuse Low-bball-IQ-chucker with alpha, hence claiming Kobe, Russell alphas.

Where in reality if you look who's the best in the world, completely owns the league, owns the entire basketball media, then you know the answer.

Notice how after Beverley cheap shotted Westbrook and OKC fell apart in his departure, he had his chance to finally say "I told you so" to the media that has been harassing him for so long and blaming him for every OKC loss and downfall. He had a big opportunity to change his image for the better, or his chance to even just call out Beverley. But he stayed silent because he didn't give a **** and his only concern was working his ass off to get back on the court.

For all the alpha qualities Westbrook has they are probably outweighed by hid childish/idiotic qualities. He reminds me of a teenager with a bad attitude who thinks he knows it all.

Stop asking rhetorical questions, who was the best player in that series? Don't tell me it's Kawhi just because his team won.

He should take advice from Steve Nash if they train together, Westbrooke sometimes plays like a retarded kid on MDMA, if he can learn to play like a real PG from Nash he will be unstoppable.
