View Full Version : Spurs will beat Lebron again.

I think the Cavs assuming they get Love will make it past Chicago and other eastern competitors into the Finals, but I think this Spurs team, same as it was last year, will be just as good, make it to the finals, and beat Lebron again. Will this negatively effect Lebron's legacy at all in your mind?

Depends on where the Cavs seed. I could see them getting bounced in the second round. Not even making it to the finals.

If the Spurs play the way they did in the Finals they're beating literally anyone.

Don't know how many teams in NBA history could hang with that team the way they were playing. 86 Celtics, 96 Bulls, 01 Lakers...who else? That Spurs team was playing at a GOAT level. Even in game 5 when Miami was stomping them early, it was still obvious that SA would not only come back but they would win in a blowout.

1. spurs have never won back to back.
2. lebalding is on an even better team this time around if cavs get love as expected.
3. spurs have been on the verge of breakind down for years and its bound to happen soon enough.
4. nba requires its refs to make a superstar out of a player each playoffs, and while lebalding is already a superstar, they would want to make a legend out of him.

The reason the Spurs trounced the Heat in the Finals last year is all about desire.
The Spurs *know* they gifted the 2013 Finals to the Heat, that should've been their trophy.
The Heat are a bunch of mental midgets that predictably shrank when faced with a team that wanted it (a lot) more.

Why do you say that? You had private conversations with the players before the games or what?

If that wasn't evident to you while watching the Finals last year, then you don't know anything about basketball.
It was fairly easy to see which team simply wanted it more.

Do you really believe this? Are you saying this years Cavs are better than Last years Heat? If anything, this years Cavs are filled with a bunch of playoff virgins... even if they get Love.

I don't know maybe it's because I've played organized basketball rather than just watching it, but desire is a fairly evident (and real) element of a basketball game.
Some day's you get your ass kicked simply because the other team wanted it more.

I have also played organized basketball. I have been playing for the past 7 years. I still can't measure the ''desire level'' of a team.
And if desire is so evident, then you should be able to explain to us how you see one team desires more than another.

That Spurs team was one of the greatest I have ever witnessed and I've been watching NBA basketball for over three decades. If they play that way again this season, it doesn't matter who comes out of the East.
They were that good.

I know what desire is. But i dont know how you can measure the ''desire level'' of a player or a team. I personally believe that you can't do it unless you get inside the head of a person.
But you seem to know how measure the desire level of a team just by looking. Can you tell how you saw that Spurs desired more than Heat?

Don't mind him, guy is an idiot Jordan knob slobber. Heat desired that ring as much as anybody, especially with the way everyone in the media disrespected their 2013 title, saying it was nothing but luck. The Heat simply weren't a very good team last season, and that is why they lost by a record margin. Nothing but Lebron and a bunch of overrated useless vets.

Cakewalk conference? They beat the 56 win Celtics and 62 win Bulls in '11. Not to mention the first 3 rounds were the #7, #2, and #1 defensive teams. The Knicks, Pacers, and Celtics in '12 with an injured Wade and Bosh. Again, the #5, #9, and #1 defensive teams in the league. #12, #6, and #1 defensive teams in '13. Once again, with Bosh playing like garbage and Wade injured. #5 and #1 defensive teams in '14.
Again, Wade was injured in '12 and '13. Bosh was injured in '12. The team outside the big 3 is also not that good and coach Spo is average at best.

Wade broke Rondo's elbow in 2011, and the Celtics had half their team injured in 2012. Keep acting like the Heat weren't heavy favorites.

You just wrote all that just to try and pump up teams that weren't that good.
In 2011 the one year they played a 60 win team plus a 50 win team, they didnt win the finals.
Since 2011, Theyve beat one 50 win team in the East? I dont know that for sure, just looking at it quickly.
And the 56 win Pacers of last year were under.500 the last 25 games of the season and went 7 games with a Teague Milsap led 38 win Hawks.
Cmon man.
The fact that they went 7 w/ a 49 win Pacers team and 7 with that washed up Celtics team is kinda pathetic. They got uber lucky the 2012 Bulls lost Rose in the 1st playoff game, that was the team to beat them in the East the last 4 years. Never got to see it.

Why does that matter? I DID say that Miami went to the Finals 4 times and won twice. Relative to the talent that Miami had and how good they were, they player pretty decent competition.
Since 2011, Theyve beat one 50 win team in the East? I dont know that for sure, just looking at it quickly.
'12 - Thunder and Pacers
'13 - Spurs
'14 - Pacers
And the 56 win Pacers of last year were under.500 the last 25 games of the season and went 7 games with a Teague Milsap led 38 win Hawks.
The 66 win '08 Celtics went to 7 games against the 37 win Hawks and 45 win Cavs. A team which most consider to be one of the best ever.
Miami was under .500 the last 25 games of the season as well. Your selective memory might not let you remember it. The Nets were on pace to win ~55 since Jan. Took them out in 5 though.
The '13 Pacers were the best defensive team in the league. Wade was injured and Bosh played like a bitch. Sure, the Bulls MIGHT win in '12, considering that Bosh was out and he was the only reliable big that Miami had. I doubt it though, considering the fact that it Rose, who was gonna lead them.
Those "washed up" Celtics were the #1 defense in the league as well.
Wade broke Rondo's elbow in 2011, and the Celtics had half their team injured in 2012. Keep acting like the Heat weren't heavy favorites.
Bosh was injured in 12 and didnt start a single game.
Rondo started every game in 11 and the Heat won in 5. It honestly wasnt that close.

Rondo started with a broken elbow, that Wade gave him.
In 2012 Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green both had open heart surgeries, Ray Allen had bone spurs in both ankles requiring surgery immediately after the season, Avery Bradley missed most of the series to get double shoulder surgery, Stiemsma had plantar fasciitis, Jermaine O'Neal played 25 games the entire year because of knee problems and none were in the playoffs. KG was 36 and playing out of position, and Pierce was 34. Woah world beaters.

There's a significant difference between a broken elbow and a dislocated elbow.
Wade was injured and required surgery. Bosh MISSED a bunch of games during the EC run. As I said earlier, he was Miami's ONLY reliable big and Miami sucked ass outside the big 3. It took 34/11/4/1/1 (almost PEAK Shaq numbers) on 59% TS for Miami to get past the Celtics. KG might've been old, but he went ham on the pathetic Heat front court. Rondo wrecked Shitmers as well.
