He's definitely gone.
Such a shame he had to deal with all this shit.
Hopefully this will give him the edge so many say he is lacking.

I think he's going to be in a much better situation in Minnesota. He's going to have a license to shoot, and he can put up some solid numbers in his rookie season.

Its tough but all these kids know its a business, as he stated. Im still holding out some hope we find a way to keep him. I doubt it but its possible. At least his attitude is, he just wants to play. The NBA needs more guys like that. Then you have Jabari who wanted to play near home. If Minnesota gets him, good for them and at least you dont lose your star for nothing.

That was exactly the same thing I thought. Maybe it'll piss him off enough he'll go into full on attack mode. I'd like to see it.
There's still just something a little off in his peronality to me.
And none of this would be happening if Embiid just stayed healthy. He would've gone one and the Cavs probably wouldn't be moving him.
Good composure and great answers from Wiggins, answering those provoking questions. The interviewer asked nothing but about the trade rumors.
King Wiggins already showing he's wise beyond his years.

The only team losing a "star" here is Cleveland. Wiggins looks like he can be a 1st or 2nd option on a championship team.
Love can't.

He'll be fine. He gets to go to a no pressure environment in Minnesota, put up big numbers for a few years on crappy teams, maybe make the playoffs once if he's lucky, then demand a trade before the last year of his deal and get to a good team for his prime years. It's the Timberwolves way. They're like a minor league team for stars to develop.

if Wiggins/Lavine plays together for 7 years.
I would be surprised they don't at least become the 4th/5th seed in the West at least one if not few of those years.

I mean they would definitely have a good core with Rubio/Lavine/Wiggins/Bennett/Dieng. Could see them making the playoffs in 3 years. No way they stay together though, Minny will find a way to **** up a good thing.

Wolves will be roughly the same after the trade as far as frontcourt goes if they're getting Thad out of it. Pekovic's PPG will probably just go up. It's a better team.

if anything, the bigger fear is always they don't know how to sign the right role players to get them help.
I can see them screwing up on signing bigs where they can't differentiate help/man defense or things like that.
they'll probably find an exciting coach and help sell a lot of tickets though. Which might keep them from losing all of its core players.
too many scenarios where I can see them trading one of their core player for another potential all star type player that ends up in a fail though. this Love/Wiggins trade is close to a no brainer if they do end up getting this trade done.

That's like giving up on him. Might as well just let him play and decide later on in season if he's worth a contract. He's fighting for a good contract at this point and we have to see if he develops better as a player because of it. Then if we really want to get rid of him, his stock could be higher. If he gets a jumper for the beginning of the season then he's suddenly elite PG status.

People are so critical of the Wolves decisions. It's not hard to tell that we've been on the right track for the last few years in establishing talent. Imagine if D-Will wouldn't have been nearly a bust and little things like that. What about Rubio? Who thought he'd suck this bad when he's such a talented passer? It's the difference between people criticizing the decisions or praising them.

So it's not the Wolves' fault that they're bad because it's not their fault they picked shitty players?
Of course players being good vs being bad is the difference between people criticizing decisions or praising them. The bottom line though is that you got a top 10 player in the league and couldn't put a good team around him either via the draft or trades or free agency.
And trust me, I'm not sitting here acting like the Hawks have been any better of a franchise, we have had our fair share of shitty picks and bad deals.

when are we going to stop acting like Kevin Love isn't a legitimate 2nd/3rd option, and that Wiggins is a rookie?
and who's to say they even know how Irving is going to perform in the playoffs?
just don't sign Lebron James if you have no interest in contending in the playoff and winning a championship. Unless the Cavs franchise as well as Lebron James are only after money.
then most basketball fans are wrong, and hey, keep Wiggins by all means.
which, with all the Wolves talk going, anyone thinks Irving can develope into a Sam Cassell?
I miss me some prime Sam Cassell.

This trade can either do two things for Wiggins.
1. Give him an edge, more of a chip on his shoulder, and we will see him really want to go out and prove people wrong especially the Cleveland organization. Before he was too happy all the time all smiles and giggles now we may see more of a mean streak.
Or...
2. It could break him. He could lose his confidence and swagger all together and even if he does posses the skill set and potential to be a star he may not put it together soon enough. A bit like Anthony Bennett who is not completely a trash player but lost his confidence and it has just be downhill since (hopefully he regains it this season).
Im hoping for the first but, we shall see...

You're even more butthurt than Cousins is. If it is so important to him maybe he should get his shit together and stop acting like he is better than everybody else. Team USA is not an all-star, Coaches are trying to build a group of guys that puts egos aside and roots for each other. Those dudes are going to be seeing each other everyday for the next 7 weeks or so. Can't have an idiot around unhappy because he didn't get enough minutes or touches every now and then.

FIBA tournaments are now the equivalent of basketball camp
nope.
I did NOT get that memo.
what's next? the USA was never dominant at basketball, other teams just simply decided to hand those Gold medals to us.
Edit- I never got to watch band of brothers, so don't mind me.

Wes Johnson
Johnny Flynn
Derrick Williams
Corey Brewer(came back)
Randy Foye
OJ Mayo(turned into Love)
6 players in the past 7 years that arent even on the team. We get a top 5 pick and can't cash in. Its beyond pathetic.

I just think we never really had a chance to make the moves to put the players around him in the first place. Last year was really his first season where he claimed top 10 in the league. I'm not saying Love is horrible at defense, but part of it is his fault for not being able to stop the scoring. We were doing just fine offensively last year, but we couldn't stop other teams from scoring PERIOD. Love and Pekovic wasn't a dream defensive duo either I understand, but we extended Pekovic a large contract. It makes me think that Wolves saw this one coming with Love possibly leaving us. Love may be a great player, but if we are to put Pekovic in our starting lineup then it's not desirable to have Love as our superstar.
I feel him. First he goes to a very hyped draft pick before the Lebron trade to an after thought. Lebron doesn't even mention him in his letter and hasn't gone out of his way at all to speak to the rookie on his own. Wouldn't be surprised if Lebron knew all along that Wiggins would be traded...It was probably one of the stipulations for him coming home.....In a way, he hamstrung the Cavs again because if they knew he was coming back to Cleveland, I'm sure they would have drafted someone else with that pick instead of Wiggins. They would have drafted a player they could actually use....

Hopefully it lights a fire under his ass. Could be great motivation, or destroy his confidence I guess. Honestly if I'm Wiggins I'd rather Minnesota. On Cleveland you get less touches, less of a chance to develop your offense, able to make more of an impact with the Wolves. Less crowded, your 19. Entire career ahead of you to compete.

And ESPN has won. It doesn't matter if you're talking about how stupid ESPN is. They have your attention. They're in your head. You're talking to other people about them. The media knows this, which is why they say any attention is good attention.
Anyway, I just saw a story that Wiggins hasn't even heard from LeBron yet.

I know the West is hard, but you had a long time to build a team around Love. It's been pretty obvious that he was going to be a superstar.
Luckily it looks like you're going to get this great package for him, so for your sake I hope you guys build right this time and become a contender.
