Lol Kobe got like 10 votes in a row and had plenty more coming in. People have been bitching about me letting these threads run to long so I started the new one up.

I vote for Hakeem as well. Dude had arguably the GOAT peak, being 1b to Michael Jordan.

All this little stunt showed is that Kobe couldn't get enough support in the first #8 places to cause an early closure. OP must have created this in thought he could get Kobe in the top 5, only to be distraught when no one actually voted for him. Another ether in itself. :lol.

#9 is as high as Bean can go tbh, though he belongs in #10 or #11.

Tough one, but I'll go with The Dream.

Can you please explain how its a tough one?
Lebron has been a more prominent player...
Lebron had a better peak....
Lebron has been more impactful...
Lebron has more accolades... achievements... milestones...

Not tough at all if you are truly objective and unprejudiced.... He should actually be argued to be higher... as an individual player you could compare him with whoever you consider is goat because as an individual player you are looking at what could arguably be the best allround talent ever... the only thing he is missing is team accomplishments from being argued as goat...

I freaking love Hakeem, but anyone here (i dont care who it is) who ranks Hakeem higher either doesnt know what he is talking about or simply... is a lebron cynic...

LeBron having a better peak is, at the very least, debatable in my opinion. Hakeem, at his best, was one of the top 3-5 defensive presences of all-time and on top of being an elite offensive player. People can laud LeBron's defense all they want but his defensive impact has never been on the same level as peak Hakeem's defensive impact.

He did... 2009, 2010, 2012... Basically a similar peak from 2009-2014, and Hakeem is 1994+1995?

If you want to do singular year, I still take 2012 LeBron

Dream led a a team to a title with no other all-stars or all-NBA players

27/12/4/4blks in the regular season
29/11/4/4blks in the playoffs

MVP + DPOTY

I'd say they're arguable, to say the least. I have Dream higher, if anything.

My favorite part about this list is how ISH is constantly shitting on the 50s-60s-early 70s, yet Russ and Wilt are both in the top 4. Then when this ranking stuff's all done with, it's right back to completely dismissing that whole era.

played0ut

It's not? Then why the fvck is Duncan anywhere near the top 5? :biggums:

I would still argue him by virtue of his defensive impact. 14x All Defensive Team.

Having a beastly defensive anchor of a big man can change the entire offensive system of their opponents.

i.e, Nate Thurmond.

Both Abdul-Jabbar and Chamberlain have gone on record saying they felt Thurmond was their toughest adversary. "He plays me better than anybody ever has," Abdul-Jabbar told Basketball Digest when he was in his prime. "He's tall, has real long arms, and most of all he's agile and strong." In an article in Sport, Abdul-Jabbar also said, "When I score on Nate, I know I've done something. He sweats and he wants you to sweat, too."

Others praised Thurmond's consistency, work ethic, and balanced, all-around game. In Basketball Digest, former teammate Walt Hazzard said: "Night in and night out you can depend on him doing his job. His statistics aren't overwhelming, but his presence on the court is unbelievable.. As for blocking shots, I've seen guys get offensive rebounds and then go back 15 feet to make sure they can get a shot off. They know Nate is there."

For BOAT list (not GOAT list), comparing the impact of Bird/Magic/Duncan is akin to comparing apples/oranges/bananas.

I'd be like with those three in any order.

I have the utmost respect for them and believe the very best from those eras would do well at any time. But I also acknowledge that aside from the top, the 'average' NBA player back then are not like now.

Lmao russwest0 just lost all credibility with that thread

How can a biased poster run these polls? Someone else should remake it and start again from #1
To be fair though, all of the threads got a ton of votes. I would've left the #9 thread open longer, but Kobe was probably going to beat Hakeem. LeBron will probably win here at #10.

The only things that could change from a re-vote:

1) Kobe's and LeBron's positions, depending on when their fans decide to vote heavily.
2) Duncan at #5. I don't think it's unreasonable to put him there (then again, I don't have a GOAT list), but I think now that people have seen him voted in at 5 in russwest0's thread, people who didn't participate might show up in order to get Bird/Magic in over him.
3) People might get complacent and not vote, since we'll already have finished one Top 10.

You guys can run the voting again, but I'm not sure if there's a point. :confusedshrug:

I don't think so either. We will get about the same results and people will complain about doing this again.

If I was in charge I would have wrote a short biography on every player that won with their accolades and used several pictures throughout their careers to make it look very official and organized. I also would have showed the number of votes on the first post.

31-25 for LeBron according to my count which could be wrong...also Fudge voted for Hakeeem like 6 times...so i only counted him once and didn't count KingPush which is a cocaine80s alt...

30 votes if it's a landslide..a day when it's closer. When it's between like 1-2 votes like it is right now it's not at all decided.

It was stated on the first page..30 posts or a day. Why the **** would it be reasonable to close voting at that number when it's between 1 or 2 votes?

blame russwest he closed #9 thread four hours in.
Dumb move on his part, definitely..but it's a different situation. Kobe had more votes than Lebron and Hakeem combined. This thread was a matter of a couple votes.

i just counted the first 30 votes. its 18-12, not between 1 or 2 votes

I got:

6-6 after 1st page, 14-8 LeBron after 2nd page, (Im not gonna fkn count Crose with 11 posts... Lord Bean and Jerry Seinfeld, both Hakeem voters, are likely alts as well, but counted) 18-13 LeBron after 3, 20-16 LeBron after 4, 26-21 LeBron after 5, 28-24 LeBron after 6, (with another likely alt in HannibalKid voting for Hakeem, which I counted) 32-27 LeBron after 7 (Fudge posting again, obv not counted, and a suspicious Bobby13, likely alt, AGAIN for Hakeem, but counted), 35-28 after 8, (OBVIOUSLY not counting the alt with 2 fkn posts who came in to give Hakeem another vote.. neither the KingPush alt, cocaine80s), 37-31 LeBron after 9... which is where it is at the moment.

So without counting these 2 or 10 post guys, or Fudge dozens posts, it's LeBron by a bit.

LeBron: 37
Hakeem: 31

What case does Hakeem have over LeBron?:oldlol:

Winning back to back titles with the worst supporting cast in the history of back to back titles?

:biggums:

He won with ROLE players and didn't need to COLLUDE.

This, Lebron is almost 1/5 in the Finals on a super stacked team. He's lucky Ray's 3 gifted him his 2nd ring.

Hakeem >>> Lebron.

Rick Barry also won with role players, is he the GOAT SF now? Dirk did the same thing, but nobody is putting him ahead of LeBron.

The fact is LeBron has the same amount of titles, more Finals appearances, & has 3 more league MVPs than Hakeem.
