this is the only question we need to ask right now

wiggins averaged 17 in college, can that translate to 26 in the league?

we are basically valuing wiggins potential againt current Love

love is 26,12 and 4

while wiggins is MUCH better defensively, the difference between wiggins and love defensively is negated by Love's rebounding and passing advantage

So much better rebounding and passing = much better defense

so the only thing left to look at is ppg

Love is at 26, can wiggins reach it?

imo no, considering wiggins is still unpolished and cant create his shot

If Paul George "the next superstar" cant even crack 24, what chance does wiggins?

heck 26 is only 1 ppg less than "scoring machine" Carmelo and LeBron

imo current love > prime wiggins

Love shot better from the field, 3p line, and averaged more APG than Wiggins, all in less MPG and 5 less shots per game.

I am a multi-unit rent free tenant in your head.

"Hi Mr. Landlord, no, I don't think I will be paying any rent this month either, sorry!"

people are forgetting love got MUCH better once he was in the league

Rookie year dude was like 13/7

then he lost 20 pounds, got quicker, got a deadly jumper and turned into a beast

can you guys envision wiggins improving by that much?

considering people like yourself say:

-no handle
-no shot
-no passing ability
-no killer instinct

I'd say yeah, he has even more room to improve.

yea but WILL he improve?

are you asking for a prediction?

Kevin Love had the same stats and dropped weight and magically scored 9 more ppg.

Wiggins can improve on so many facets of his game, that actually makes his ceiling higher.

Literally a day ago you were trashing Kevin Love and saying you wouldn't mind if the Cavs kept Wiggins.

i wouldnt mind if the cavs kept wiggins cause of defense

but love is still > wiggins

both arent SUPERSTARS

love is better but settling for wiggins isnt that bad

26 ppg on a bottom feeder team is worth nothing, if we were talking 30+ then maybe... wiggins on the wolves as a rookie would average 20+ easily

Regular season scoring is overrated. The last player to lead the NBA in regular season scoring and win an NBA title was Shaq back in 2000 (I think).

college stats...

Clyde Drexler 14.4 ppg
Charles Barkley 14.1 ppg
Hakeem Olajuwon 13.3 ppg
Patrick Ewing 15.3 ppg
Michael Jordan averaged... 17.7 points in college

Westbrook's career high in 2 years of College was 22 points.

In the NBA he's averaging 23 points a game and dropping 40+ points in the WCF and Finals.

Wiggins will be in time, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets over 20 as a rookie at Minnesota, especially with Rubio feeding it to him.

Don't see why not. That depends entirely on him. All the greats worked to improve.

>Kobe started working with the Dream.
>Ditto Lebron to work on his post moves-- now he's a well rounded scorer.
>Jordan (according to PJ), was not a good shooter or originally good defender.

Playing outstanding defense didn't come automatically to him, either. He had to study his opponents, learn their favorite moves and then dedicate himself to learning the techniques necessary to stop them. He's worked extremely hard to perfect his footwork and his balance.

If he works at it he'll do it.
