Agree or disagree? Don't think any team has a case over them. Unmatched consistency at being at or near the top the past 15 years.

great management, GOAT coach, incredible scouting.

Past 15 years? Comparable to Lakers, I think. They 'did' win 5 also. But overall greatness, yeah. From the bottom to the top of the franchise (in terms of cohesiveness and loyalty), Spurs is better.

Anyway,

Greatest Franchises ever:

1) Lakers/Celtics
2) Celtics/Lakers
3) Chicago Bulls
4) Spurs

Lakers over last 15 years won 5 titles, Spurs 4 (five if we take last 16 years).

Consistency-wise Spurs were the best, definitely. At first it was solely attributed to Duncan, but its clear to everyone now Pop was a crucial part of success as well. Corpse of Timmy together with a band of misfits simply dominated the Heat, and it was one of the clearest examples of elite coach importance. Some coaches just "tag along", but some can create Spurs '14 or Pistons '04, with coaches being the most important part of the team (yes, I said it).

Lakers. 5 Titles, 7 Finals vs 4 Titles, 5 Finals

Spurs deserve this title more than the Lakers due to the consistent winning percentage and the incredible feat of elevating themselves from a good but not great franchise to a historically great one in that 15 year span.

Difficult to say otherwise. Consistency is what makes them so great. Lakers are close second followed by Miami.

I love the Spurs now, but I think the Lakers are likely to take this title. With the Lakers being able to 3peat & 2peat in a 10 year span, that's pretty impressive considering the teams they faced or the era that they won it in, or maybe because of the fact that they were able to 3peat & 2peat. How crazy does that sound?! Don't look past that for one second.

One thing i'll give the Spurs is their consistency, they were never really into that rebuilding phase, they kept their core, always trying to find & replace certain players to fill in for that certain role, it's also impressive & amazing. Them winning it last season with the roster they had & considering the age factor and all - they're getting really close from where the bar was set by the Lakers, & they are not that far from it.

Lakers get a close 2nd, mainly because of their fan base which throws foam fingers on the court....

Spurs fans however are the model fans and class acts.

The spurs pretty easily win this, due to the Lakers down years in the middle of the 2000's and the recent down years imo

Yep. Not to mention that they don't have L.A.'s resources and only one transcendent player has walked through the door.

Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat have a combined 18 finals appearances and 13 titles in the last 16 seasons...

Spurs are the best at consistently being contenders
Lakers are the best at recovering from problems to get back to the top
Heat are just lucky that refs and FAs like them

Lakers finished as a top 4 seed 9x in the past 15 years, they also have had years finishing 11th and 14th in their conference (and 3x finishing 7th)

Spurs finished as a top 4 seed 14x in the past 15 years.... This is a ridiculous stat about elite level consistency at an elite level...
