View Full Version : Lebron demands talent everywhere
Drafted by Cleveland. Decides Cleveland doesn't have enough talent, leaves.
Goes to Miami. Wins two championships but then realizes that Miami's roster is old and losing talent each season. Leaves.
Arrives in Cleveland. Decides Cleveland doesnt have enough talent and immediately demands the FO trade for Love.
Does this make him weak? Or competitive? Part of me sees it as him being a giant vag but another part of me can't blame him because he will always and forever be judged on the number of rings he wears.

The collusion circa 2010 is one thing.
But nothing wrong with wanting Love. All great players have tried to influence who their teammates would be.

Not publically, but that's only because he has a good PR manager.

Who did Durant demand?

Who did Durant demand?
Why are you comparing Durant to Lebron, Durant has 1 year where he's been playing at a level near Lebron, stop comparing these two players.
Lets use PER as our metric, if you disagree with this metric then we'll go to RAPM.
Lebron ( Top 5 seasons)
2008-2009 31.7
2012-2013 31.6
2009-2010 31.1
2011-2012 30.7
2013-2014 29.3
(Noted Lebron has an advantage in the fact that he has played more years)
Durant ( Top 4)
2013-2014 29.8
2012-2013 28.3
2x 2009-2010/2011-2012 26.2
Playoff PER:
27.72 (Average) - LBJ
24.4 (Average) - Durant
Lebron has accumulated more OWS and DWS in a 7 year span than Durant, Lebron has more accolades in the same time span and didn't have the supporting cast that Durant has in the first 7 years in the NBA.

Who did Durant demand?
Are you just playing stupid or what?
At one point Durant had Westbrook (top 5 PG, arguably top3), Harden (best 6th man in the league) and Ibaka (best shotblocker in the league). Compare that to Lebron's roster in his first 7 years and then tell me what more should Durant demand?

The guy is weak. Stay in one place and build something there...fight thru adversity.
He'll never be like Melo who is sticking out in New York and will fight thru the tough times, and build a winner from ground up. How amazing is Melo, right?
It's so great to see Melo get praise he deserves for not jumping ship at first opportunity.
Lebron? Not so much....

Kobe really helped change the nba landscape with the introduction of the 'collusion era' in 2004 where he stacked the deck in his favor (shaq, Malone, Payton)
Then the celtics did it in 2008
After dan gilbert ran lebron out of Cleveland lebron had no choice but to join bosh's collusion to the heat

Most championship teams are made up of atleast 2 Hall of fame level players. Lebron never played with an eliteplayer in their prime in his first stint with the cavs. I have no prob with him wanting talent around him:confusedshrug: Durant has had Westbrokk by his side for almost his entire career and he happens to be better than anyone lebron has ever played with outside of wade.

LeBron says it winning a championship in Cleveland won't be easy and will take time. He then immediately wants moves to make the Cavs a championship team.

I actually don't mind the first move from Lebron. Bailing on Miami was a puss move but I get wanting to go home, but then getting there and playing GM takes it to a whole new level.

Honestly, i can accept that the media is also to blame. The sheer hype and pressure they put on Lebron makes him basically demand as many All Star players to play along side him. I am guessing that before in the 80s and 90s, a player would be given a little more room to get to his prime of 28-29 and grow with a team before the huge championship pressure hits. Since Lebron came into the league, the question has been "how can X team get enough help to get Lebron the title"? Lebron has pretty much picked up on that.

LeBron didn't win because he didn't have a top 3 PG, an elite defensive PF and SG, and the 6th MOY. You think Cleveland LeBron wouldn't have won with that team?

:oldlol: at all the collusion talk. Even with the "collusion" the Heat were not more talented than the Thunder or Clippers. The Heat had a case in 2011 based on their top 3--but they had nothing beyond that. They were reminiscent of the "2 deep" Lakers of the early 2000's in 11'. Beyond 2011, the Heat were never the most stacked team in their era let alone historically stacked. Durant/Westbrook/Harden/Ibaka or even Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka>LeBron/2012-2014 Wade/2012-2014 Bosh. The Clippers with Paul/Griffin/Jordan/Crawford/Reddick also have more talent--and unlike OKC or MIA have a good coach. OKC arguably has the second and third best players in the league and the LAC arguably have the third and fourth best--plus more beyond their top 2 than the Heat ever had. You also have other teams like the Rockets and Portland with multiple franchise players.
The Heat won 2 rings in 4 years and had the best record in their conference once. Yet people act as if some unbeatable juggernaut was formed. That team was in the Finals 4 years in a row. They replaced LeBron with an all-star SF and shored up their bench. So if they were stacked during the "collusion" era surely they will remain championship contenders? Right? :hammerhead:
LeBron does indeed want to have the best roster around him. Who doesn't, though?

Well, then you're an idiot. If LeBron is taking a team to 66 wins and 61 wins with Mo Williams as his 2nd best player, he can sure as hell win a ring with Ibaka, Westbrook, and Harden.

Such a stupid response. :lol You don't lead the league in scoring for multiple years like Durant has if your point guard is unwilling to give up the ball! :hammerhead: Lebron would welcome less ball handling responsibility, which is why he left the Heat as they have no one else who is capable of running the offense.
Its almost like Lebron doesn't want all the pressure.
He set the bar high in Miami and while I wouldn't call 2 titles a failure... It was according to Lebrons own words.

Excuse Lebron for wanting the Cavs to actually have some success.
