Could this help lead the way to him going to the Washington Wizards?

Why do they pay these guys so much? Do they even make a profit? :confusedshrug:

Nevermind. Under Armour makes 2.2 billion annually. Wow...

Do shoe endorsement deals make sense for shoe companies by athletes?

Consider this short blurb from two years ago:

"Nike generated $300 million in U.S. retail sales in 2012 for James

The 3rd quarter of 2013 saw a 27% increase in profits. I guess they think KD can help it climb further. I don't remember under armour having a spokes person. KD does have a pretty good image for sports.

How much does KD sell? His sneakers sold like $200M last year or something but I wonder how much his other gear sells. Probably not a bad deal when all things are taken into account.

Imagine if he took a 10 year $300 mill deal....that's like some A-Rod shit right there :lol

Not sure about the money Nike makes with KD, but here's an interesting article on that subject analizing Lebron's sales in regard with his contract with Nike:

That also means that with his NBA salary and other endorsements that his annual earnings would be roughly $65,000,000 million per season.

That is James and Kobe money there.

Yeah, but Nike sells a lot more than just Lebron and KD sneaker. I'm sure premier athletes like KD, Bron, Kobe, etc are profitable on big deals because they have entire apparel lines. Guys like Steph Curry are probably unprofitable if they are given a biggish deal.

Dude is so alpha he can make 30M a year from just one endorsement deal while playing in the smallest market in the league :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

The hype for him once he wins the MVP again next year and then gets his first ring is going to be insane....

UA has been doing good things with their shoes lately. they make a legit quality basketball shoe. and their team is shaping up pretty nicely, as well.

An endorsement deal to keep an eye on that could be off the charts lucrative in the future is the recently announced deal with Sparkling ICE and KD.

That company has been growing rapidly and I wouldn't be surprised if Jay-Z's sports management group negotiated a part ownership for his long-term partnership of them.

This could be a major cash cow.

Smart by UA. They've been gaining ground on Nike in terms of quality of product. Not market share. If they procured the last superstar successor to LeBron, and all the Nike / Adidas owned superstars, then Under Armour could begin making a legit name for themselves in the basketball market with "The Servant" repping their brand.

I can't wait until the NBA no longer has to hawk Adidas products. The 3 stripes are annoying to see on those warmups.

I wonder if UA is open to making NBA jerseys and all apparels.

UAs been growing now. This is a smart deal for them to enhance that.

Not bad for the UA founder, who was 23yrs old at the time when he started the business in his grandmother's basement in 1996.
