If you watch the video of this picture there was a semi-hard foul on LeBron and it spilled over into the side-court fans behind the basket. His mother came out of the sidelines to defend LeBron and LeBron was basically yelling at his mom to go sit back down. He was trying to keep her out of the situation on the court because she was overreacting to a typical NBA semi-hard foul.

From the OPs link and some other awkward interviews he's had over the past few years, it definitely sounds like it's true and is just something that Delonte isn't proud of, which is why he denies it. Plus, I don't know if people notice but there's definitely a huge difference in the interactions between those two when they were teammates prior to game 4 of the Celtics series vs the rest of that series and when they were opponents once Lebron left. After the Decision, Lebron was still with cool with Cavs players except for Mo Williams who obviously just took it too much to heart and then also Delonte West for no specific reason it seems. Also, Delonte's minutes all of a sudden had a huge drop in minutes starting in game 4 of that series. Way too many coincidences for me to believe its not true.
