According to Deadline, the stars of the hit CBS series have agreed to hefty pay increases for the new season. Quoting unnamed sources, the publication reports that Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco have secured three-year deals for "$1 million per episode for the 72 episodes the show is slated to produce in Seasons 8-10."
And you guys thought Kobe was overpaid.

If it's Seasons 8-10, then that's a 3-year contract, not 2.

yeah TBBT is painfully bad. I tried a few times to give it a shot. I can't believe people watch that...

I used to be into it, until they started just recycling the same episode, essentially, over and over and over and over and over again.

While the world bitches and moans about what a shitty show it is...I just sit back and :applause: these people when they pull $1 million + per episode. What a racket.
Gosh, you are all so edgy. Friends was such a bad show, amirite u gais?

Good for him, that's some serious money.
On another note, totally agree with others in the thread...I have never enjoyed a single minute of this show. I just don't find it funny at all...seriously. All the science jokes are so cheesy and over played. Oh well, they're obviously doing something right.

I never really watched it bc I didnt think itd be my kind of show but then I caught a couple reruns on syndication once when I was stayin at a motel where the wifi was out and I was pleasantly surprised. Got some legit chuckles out of it.

Seems like all of the older women I know (35+) loves the show. I don't personally like it but there is def a significant target audience.

Really? Wow...
Shame that these guys will make so much more, and it's not like TWD isn't a popular show...

Friends was a very good show. Because it was...funny? :confusedshrug:
It's not edgy to say TBBT sucks. It just isn't funny...what do you want us to say? The jokes are just shake you head awful....

The actors are okay but the writing is terrible. I don't know how they can possibly make 72 more episodes. They've been out of material for 3 years.

I just found out Jim Parsons was gay last Saturday when he mentioned it on SNL
Never knew
Anyway, good for him... Its not the greatest show and I don't really care for it but it isn't completely awful like some in here claim. It has its moments.

Opie and Anthony had taken to playing segments of this show with the laugh track turned off, and it's eerily bad.
I did just find Jim Parsons on a travel show special recently where he goes to Europe to learn about his ancestry. That was pretty interesting.

It isn't horrible, but it definitely has gotten old the last few seasons. They just keep making the same jokes/episodes. 72 more eps sounds like a lot. Actors getting PAID though.
How is he overpaid? So the Network should keep all the money? Why?
How exactly did OP get 2 years from 8 to 10 btw? Are they skipping 9?

I don't find it funny at all and I understand all the science jokes and references. I get why someone who's the average American would think they're funny...but being in the scientific field...they're lame as ****.
Also, Community wasn't that funny either after Season 2. Got washed up real fast.
Parks & Rec + 30 Rock bitches.

Parks & Rec has it's moments I guess but 30 Rock is just flat out awful...pretty much no one on that show is funny. Tracy Morgan is the opposite of funny, I don't think that guy has ever made me laugh one time in his entire life.
Parks and Rec has 2 funny characters but they are extremely hit and miss...Aziz Ansari and Nick Offerman...everyone else on that show is bad
on Community Joel McHale, Danny Pudi (Abed), Ken Jeong (Chang), Donald Glover (Troy), Jim Rash (the Dean) can ALL be hilarious...
Community has hit and miss writing, but when it hits it hits hard

Like you think everyone on 30 Rock is hilarious and everyone on Community is unfunny?
That's rare for a young male imo. It seems like mostly women that love Tina Fey and honestly I have never heard ANYONE speak highly of Tracy Morgan, I don't even know how his career exists. Alec Baldwin is very "meh" on that show as well. The blonde (don't know her name) just plays a stereotypical dumb blonde and for the most part is completely unfunny.
Community is very well received and IMO it's recent struggles can be attributed to the fact that the comedy goes over the head of older peeps.

http://buzz.money.cnn.com/2014/08/06/big-bang-theory-actors-salary/?hpt=hp_t2
If "The Big Bang Theory" actors are working roughly 40 hours a week, that would translate to $25,000 an hour.
Even if you give the actors the benefit of the doubt and say they work 60 hours a week (12 hours a day), that still comes out to more than $16,000 an hour.
CNN breaking down their salaries
I want to break it down even further...
$25k an hour = $417 a minute
$417 a minute = $7 a second :lol
if they see a $5 bill on the ground and decide to pick it up, they made more $$$ in that time leaning over than the $5 bill they found.

On Community I liked Troy and Pierce, unfortunately they left. Chang was hilarious. I didn't find Jeff or Britta funny. Annie was okay. Abed and Shirley were downright horrific and so unbelievably annoying.
More than anything though, I hated the Community gimmicks. So many themed episodes that I just didn't like. I still watched till the most recent episodes.
As for 30 Rock, I find Tracy's lines to be hilarious in that he is an over the top stereotype of himself. Kenneth is absolute gold. Tina Fey is funny. Then there's characters like Dr. Spaceman that are a riot. I just enjoy the show and find myself laughing most of the time.

IMO Chevy Chase, Britta, Annie, and Shirley aren't very funny. Chevy in particular gets the same lame racist and immature jokes and he ultimately left the show because the writing for him was so poor.
The other characters can be very funny though and I agree that Troy leaving hurt the show badly.
The gimmicks seems to be a lot of people's issue...and yeah like I said it can be hit or miss. The video game episode was awful and the GI themed one. But when they do hit they hit big time.

The Big Bang Theory is the #1 comedy and is a ratings hit, and that is why everyone on that show is getting paid. They dominate on Thursday, which is prime time as it gets. Let them get paid. I can understand people not liking it, but people are watching it and that's all that really matters to the networks.
A lot of people will express their love or hate for certain shows.
But one pattern I see is: shows have fans because the characters of said shows are people their fans can identify with. Obviously if you hate nerds or didn't have nerdy friends then TBBT will not appeal to you.
Personally Friends was never funny. That Phoebe character is irritating. She is ditzy and unfunny. Ross is a whiny dude who wants that girl who never liked him but does get in the end because the script says so. Joey's like male version of Phoebe and his catch phrase "how ya doin" is as annoying as Full House's "have mercy," "cut it out quit it," and " you got it dude."
Seinfeld was another popular show I disliked. Their characters are unremarkable, mundane, and forgettable except Kramer for his over acting and over dramatizing theatrics.
Oh well it's all subjective :lol
