Believe it or not, FIBA has this kind of information readily available. All you have to do is go to their website. Not exactly difficult. You can even click on each event and get all the results, the rosters, the stats, the box scores, etc.

LeBron has won every major FIBA tournament an American player can win except the world cup, as he has won the FIBA Americas and the Olympics (FIBA runs that for the IOC), but has not won the World Cup.

It's called World Cup. Because teams from all over the world participate and they get a cup.
You get a medal in the Olympics.
I know that wasn't the question but since americans struggle so much with these things I figured I'd give them a bone in hopes they manage to make sense out of it after decades of struggle.

Well, they are probably confused because they get a medal for the FIBA tournaments also, and can't figure out what the cup is for.
And also because ESPN tells them that the NBA winners are the "world champions" so that they can't figure out what in the hell this other tournament would be for, especially since they think the Olympics is the "highest quality international tournament".
Just read the comments here, they say over and over that the Olympic tournament is much "harder" and "higher level" than EuroBasket..............
So it's no wonder that a lot of Americans can't even figure out what the tournament even is.

Most of us does not really care about this. Even if we win, there's no White House visit or no red carpet welcoming by thousand of fans. No one even bother to call Durant a world champ when he slaughtered those Euros. Even Kenny Smith never mention this along with his 2 rings and he obliterated them Russians with Lithuanians. This might be a big thing to Spain because they have a better chance in this event compare to Olympic.

This is also the FIRST WORLD CUP. They are just attempting to rebrand it hoping someone gives a ****. They have been MILES behind the Olympics (take a look at the rosters involved in both) and are just trading on the (soccer) World Cup's success.
The FIBA World Championships have been going on for 60 years.

Why do you feel the need to state you don't care? So the moment you sprout bullshit our your mouth you have an automatic excuse?
Every country not called USA puts more emphasis on the World Cup than they do on the Olympics. Basically ALL team sports all over the world do this.
You just have to look at lineups in consecutive FIBA/Olympics tournaments...
And the only reason America cares so much for olympics is because that's their only chance at seeing USA triumph internationally. They're not big in Tennis no more, they're not big in Moto Gp, they're not big in F1, not big in Soccer, they're not big in any international sports that host a valuable international competition through the year.
It's ok Americans have their own way of doing things. They have for everything. And that's why they still rely on Europe for the more advanced imports.
The new free market deal between the two continents is going to make this even more clear, with all the new product treatments you're going to have to do to your products so they meet the barely minimun legal requeriments for being worthy of Europeans (for instance, all the chicken you eat in USA is not even legal here)
But hey, as long as you use that arrogant and belittling attitude of yours amongst fellow americans it's ok, it's not like anyone has any sort of perspective or cares enough to educate themselves.

A little off topic but some thoughts I had on that 2006 World Championship.
I don't think the NBA US players ever held the FIBA World Cup / World Championships to the same standard as the Olympics, likely due to US media coverage. Prior to 1992, NBA players weren't participating in either tournament but they made their debut in the Olympics with the dream team.
Although the 1994 World Cup Roster drew tons of star power, the main attractions were Shaq, Mourning, Reggie Miller, and an older Wilkins. This was nothing compared to the 1992 dream team with MJ, Pippin, Bird, Magic, Ewing, etc... I think that kind of set the precedent going forward. From 1992 - to prior to 2008 there was really as much continuity in the US national rosters as we see in the past 6 years.
The travesty about the 2006 World Championships however, was that the US team has just come off a bronze medal from Athens in 2004 and some of the casual NBA fans were expecting a bounce back, especially with returning players like Melo, Wade, LeBron. Plus add in Dwight, Chris Paul, and Chris Bosh, most were expecting a shoo-in for gold. Had the US grabbed gold in 2004, I don't think the 2006 World Championships would have been seen as a big loss, just like in 1998 (NBA lockout) and 2002.
Since then the US program has been reformed quite a bit, spearheaded by Coach K + Jerry Colangelo, but we've also added solid veteran leadership each year. The 2008 Beijing team had Jason Kidd and Kobe, along with a more mature roster of all-stars. The 2010 FIBA team had Billups, Odom, and Chandler as the older vets. The 2012 London team Kobe and Chandler again, but also was led by a championship-experienced LeBron.
The only thing that might worry me this summer is that we don't have any players with NBA championship experience or solid veteran leadership. Durant is probably the most successful leader out of the group, but guys like Curry, Irving, Cousins, Derozen, Lillard, Drummond haven't developed into experienced leaders yet. There is no guy like a Billups, Kobe, LeBron or Kidd to go around barking orders at younger guys when they mess up. Both Durant and Rose are quiet leaders. Harden isn't much of a leader himself and then the only other guy with FIBA experience is Davis who sat at the end of the bench in 2012. If we lose to Spain this year it'll because our experience let us down.

Word.
Tangible and quantitative elements like talent and depth is never enough for playoff pressure situations. You always need intangibles like leadership and vet savvy to adapt and flourish.

The tournament has been going on since 1950. Just because ESPN keeps saying it's the first tournament does not make it true. ESPN is full of shit, as always.

The roster a lot of people are projecting here for the US will need ref help just to beat Lithuania or Slovenia just to get to the finals. I am sure they will get that ref help though, because in the last 6 years FIBA gave USA ridiculous amounts of help from the refs.
In a 50/50 ref situation these rosters people are throwing around could not even beat Slovenia or Lithuania and could not even get to a final.

Why do you watch, if you think the game is rigged in advance, that Team USA wins only through referee bias?

No, you already arrived at that judgment, since you already stated as much.
Why bother watching if the results are preordained in advance? :confusedshrug:
Out of some sheer perverse pleasure in being proven right?
