I'm not typin about the David Ortiz' and other black players that speak Spanish.

I'm typin about American born niggahs. What happened to them? Why didn't they play bball? Or football? I never played baseball. Either did any of my homies. Wierd shit. Baseball boring as fucc.

It's probably because you don't understand the game.

Poorer areas produce less baseball players due to equipment and space reasons

Racist.

I understand it fine. Boring as a muufucca.

What about the other millions that don't?

and I know it takes more equipment to play. And the socioeconomic shit.

But the niggahs that play baseball, obviously could have played hoop or football if they had access to baseball stuff. That's what typin.

It's becoming less and less common to.

Why would a niggah choose baseball? Crazy.

Lol it was because you don't like the sport. Most of the time I find that people who detest certain sports just simply don't have a deep understanding of the game's intricacies and strategy that is involved in every play.

Easy.

Offense and defense combined. No doubt.

Arguably best defensive center fielder of all time.

Who's to say they didn't also play those other sports? Most professional athletes excelled at multiple sports growing up. Perhaps they were just better at baseball and had a greater opportunity to play at the next level.

Oh c'mon. Willie Mays was better at BOTH offense and defense. Tris Speaker was probably the greatest defensive center fielder. Griffey wasn't even the best defensive center fielder of his relative era (Torii Hunter beats him there, and probably Andruw Jones and Jim Edmonds too).

His 10-12 year peak is goat. Combined offense and defense. No doubt.

Overall career , injuries fucced his legacy , no doubt. But still hit 630 home runs. 10 gold gloves. Psht.

10 good gloves in a row. Constantly making unbelievable plays.

Peak Griffey home runs by season In order 40, 49, 56, 56, 48, 40.

Steroid free in the steroid era, going against roided out pitchers.

Peak Griffey = goat.

No, it's because it's boring as watching dogshit dry. Actually going to games is pretty fun, but watching a non-playoff baseball game on TV? I'd rather watch a replay of an NBA or NFL game.

Their peak seasons are comparable. Peak seasons could go either way, although amongst baseball historians Willie Mays' 1965 season is considered one of the greatest of all-time. However, Mays was greater for a longer period of time. Mays had 19 straight all-star seasons. Griffey only had 11. Mays led the league in many different categories more consistently throughout his career as well. He was just more dominant. He was also a consistent base-stealing threat up until his thirties. Griffey never was the base stealer Mays was. Mays led the league four times in SBs. Griffey never did. Mays also led the league in triples three times. Griffey never did. Mays also led the league in Slugging Percentage five times. Griffey did once. Mays won two MVPs to Griffey's one.

Griffey 97 > mays 65

Again, comparable. In terms of dominance, it goes to Mays. In terms of raw numbers, it goes to Griffey. Mays led the league with 52 HRs that year. The guy with the second-most HRs had 39. In 1997, Griffey hit 56 HRs, which was second in the league and 7 HRs ahead of third place with nine others hitting 40+ HRs. Larry Walker's 1997 season was better than Griffey's IMO. So peak Walker > peak Griffey? Maybe. But those arguments don't prove much when we are talking about the greatest of all-time. Griffey is not the greatest baseball player of all-time.

Remember this.

Griffey did that against pitchers taking steroids.

And most every other hitter you mentioned was juiced up.

Thank you and good night.

If you can't gauge just how much, if at all, steroid use affected the players' stats, why bring it up like it's a point worth making? And aside from Roger Clemens, how many great pitchers were using steroids?
Also, since you seem to put more emphasis on modern era stars with regards to greatness, where do you rank Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson all-time?

Who are they? They ain't niggahs.

Griffey is in the discussion cuz. Of course I'm biased being from Seattle. He in the discussion doe. No doubt. Plenty of pitchers were juicing bruh.

He missed over two seasons Cus of injury. Easily could have had 700 home runs. 10 straight gold gloves. No arguing he in the goat discussion.

Why does this matter to you? Coming from the guy who claimed I was a racist...anyway, if we narrow down the GOAT discussion to 10 or 15 players, Griffey is not in that group. Also, plenty of shitty players juiced. In fact, most of the players that juiced weren't any good.

Ok. You making me google.

You look like you know bout baseball. But you don't.

Griffey. 6th all time hr. Bonds and a rod ahead, so,.., 4th all time?

15th all time RBI. Bonds a rod ahead. So,, 13th?

10 gold gloves. Only 7 players in history have more than 10. Only 2 outfielders.

Enough accomplishments??????? Gtfo.

GTFO. For real this time.

You know that pitchers are baseball players too, right?

My top 15 (rough draft):

Babe Ruth
Willie Mays
Hank Aaron
Barry Bonds
Lou Gehrig
Ted Williams
Ty Cobb
Honus Wagner
Mickey Mantle
Walter Johnson
Greg Maddux
Rogers Hornsby
Roger Clemens
Albert Pujols
Joe DiMaggio

Robinson, Cy Young, Seaver and a few others would have precedence over Griffey if we take out the Steroid players.

Many more schools have football fields as opposed to baseball fields, and football is far more about athleticism than fine skills like baseball. It's easier to get strong and fast than good with a bat, or become a pitcher. You need coaches for baseball to work on your game a lot more than football (at a young age)
