Well Kobe is playing with potentially 3 allstars, but Melo has Bargs. I'd say it's even.

People are going to clown them often but the Lakers roster is OK..not great but deceptively not shitty.

Lin/Clarkson/Nash
Kobe/Xavier/Johnson
Young/Johnson/Xavier
Boozer/Randle/Kelly
Hill/Davis/Sacre

Kobe from 5-6 years ago could probably take them to the playoffs, maybe the 2nd round if he gets hot and with good coaching. As it is right now if he can give them 20/5/5 I have them winning 40-42 games, TWolves-level from this past season.

The Knicks just suck ass.

Melo, Kobe at least has some actual basketballers on his team. If you replaced boozer or hill with a good big man (and assumed kobe will actually play well this season) they have a decent line up, if you replace one player on the knicks with someone good they still suck.

Both have good enough teammates to make the playoffs. Huge failure for both if they dont

I think both rosters have a lot to be desired.....

PG 1. Jose Calderon 2. Pablo Prigioni 3. Shane Larkin
SG 1. J.R. Smith 2. Tim Hardaway Jr. 3. Iman Shump
SF 1. Carmelo Anthony 2. Travis Outlaw 3. Cleanthony Early
PF 1. Quincy Acy 2. Andrea Bargnani 3. Stat 3. Louis Labeyrie
C 1. Samuel Dalembert 2. Jason Smith 3. Cole Aldrich

I think Melo has a younger squad so I guess his is scrubbier I would rather say inexperienced.

no pun intended

Knowing that Arenas and Young are best friends, I can't imagine how Arenas reacted when he saw this. Probably still jokes about it with him.

Jordan Hill was the best big man on the Lakers squad when Howard and Gasol were on the team.
The real problem is for him to stay healthy and a coach to like, from what I've read about Byron Scott's opinion on him, this won't be a problem.
Expect 16/10 season from him with magnificent defense.
Kobe's gonna be a 25/5/5 guy if he stays healthy too.
Lin's gonna surprise people
Nash is all about the health, he'll always be valuable just as a shooter, never seen a better marksman than him.
Boozer's shit on defense, but I expect him to be at least decent on offense.
Randle could be great.
Swaggy P is instant offense.
Xavier Henry and wesley Johnson are good all-around role players.
The real problem is with the second C.
This team is gonna win 50 games, book it
