If god really does exist would he really care how you dress to go to church. At work shouldn't you just be judged by your production if you work in a office why do you have to have a dress code.

Because God is gay and loves fashion.

Because what you wear is part of the first impression people get of you.

Because it shows respect and that you actually give a shit and put some effort into taking care of yourself. A lot of places just go for neat casual now though these days.

Don't know/care about church. But if your position in a company is at all client-facing, your appearance matters. It just does. Even neckbeard engineers and programmers who never deal with clients can't be looking slovenly at most large corporations.

Not really it's seems pretty silly why do you need to dress a certain way to show respect. You can show you take care of yourself by washing up and taking care of your body

Why did people make up this silly tradition. If I was a boss I wouldn't care how any of my employees came to work as long as it's not inappropriate. Who cares how someone is dressed when doing business can they get the job done is all I care about

No one has a logical reason why you need to dress a certain way to do office work. It's just old way of thinking

You're right. It's stupid, but it's how it is.

Is it even possible to live out your life without ever having to wear a suit once? You have to have at least 1 set.

If girls at work dressed like sloots it would affect productivity.

Why does a suit show confidence and power explain how a outfit creates respect it's silly outdated way of thinking

Because if you go to all that trouble to get your shit pressed and put that crap on, your going to be more on your game... that's the idea anyway.

Organization
Creativity
Cleanliness (assuming its pressed)
Responsibility
These are just a handful of qualities that show when wearing a suit. You don't just put one on to go the mall. You have it on for an obvious reason.

My company is casual dress so it's all about production but I get a formal dress code. It sets an expectation for professionalism and focus that is no joke. it kind of fits into the "dress for the job you want" idea.
And honestly, suits are just good style. The way you feel in a well tailored suit is second to none.

I don't even know why basketball teammates wear the same color of jersey.
I mean, if the fan and players knew who each other were, everyone could be wearing under armor and we'd have a ball game.
