What the fukk? :biggums:

Where do you think he'll end up when it's all said and done?

Barring any injuries, I think dude's gonna surpass Kareem with ease. Like, a legit shot at 40k. GOAT scorer.

LMAO @ needing Kerr to take the last shot.:oldlol:

Doesn't have to bang in the post. I said he can replicate Dirk as he ages. As in develop a face up game built on fadeaways using his height, while occassionally getting a bucket or two in the post.

Dude's gonna be elite for a loooooong time.

baring injury he could play well into his late 30's and break the record. he has a frail frame though so who knows how his body will hold up. if he evolves his arsenal and gets a mid-range post game he will break it.

Hard to say. Remember that his numbers and averages will go down over the course of his career. And KAJ had unreal durability in addition to his longevity. Shit, the guy was dropping 23 ppg at 38 years old on great efficiency.

He might do it, but it certainly won't be "easy". That said, I do think he has a better chance than Lebron since his game is more adapted to longevity.

Just sad that MJ burned out twice, denying himself the chance to break KAJ's record.

KD does have a chance, but he has to change his game once he crosses 30. More high post skills, destroy little guards.

Kevin Durant certainly has an opportunity to become the all-time leading scorer in league history. Of course, staying healthy is the key and that is no guarantee because it would take him a decade of good health and playing at this level to get there.

But he's been averaging about 2300 points per season, with the exception of the shortened season during their labor dispute, over the last five seasons. He could be at 38,000 or points at the time is 35 years old.

It's possible but far from a given. He should certainly finish top five all time.

Hard to say. Remember that his numbers and averages will go down over the course of his career. And KAJ had unreal durability in addition to his longevity. Shit, the guy was dropping 23 ppg at 38 years old on great efficiency.

Yeah people forget that KAJ was very durable. He never missed more than 20 games and missed significant time only twice in 20 years (in the 70's--his teams went 3-14 and 7-13 without him).

Chamberlain - 19,739 Points, 1,933 Assists, 12,725 Rebounds, and ∞ Blocks.

The GOAT scorer. His career averages are deflated by changing roles later in his career but no one could score as much as him. People cite pace but no one was even close to him. The second highest scoring season in the 60's was 35 ppg versus Wilt's 50 ppg. When MJ was scoring 37 and Kobe 35 there were other players in the same era scoring 32-33.

As to the OP, Durant has a shot but it is tough because you need durability, longevity and you need to avoid injuries that diminish your ability to reach that kind of career mark.

Assuming he's healthy, he'll have scored more points than Bron has by 29. Durant's pretty much gonna average 30ppg for the next several years, while Bron seems to have settled into a 26/27 ppg scorer. What I find interesting is 1) the difference in assists and 2) how close the rebounding numbers are considering Durant's slight build and more perimeter-based game.

WRONG! LeBron averaged 29.3 PPG over his first 7 seasons.

LeBron: 2081 Points, 520 Assists, 598 Rebounds, 117 Steals, 68 Blocks
Durant: 2019 Points, 280 Assists, 601 Rebounds, 81 Steals, 88 Blocks
Jordan: 2425 Points, 497 Assists, 476 Rebounds, 175 Steals, 76 Blocks

GOAT scorer
Wilt scored 2034 points in his first 8 years in the league, in the Playoffs (67 Games). MJ scored 2425 points in 70 games in his first 7 years.
