I think so. Love > Bosh, Irving > an often injured Wade and LeBron = LeBron.

C: Varejao
PF: Love
SF: LeBron
SG: Waiters
PG: Irving

That's a better starting lineup than any of those Heat championship teams.

On paper, but it doesn't mean they will be as successful. Kyrie and Love have faced injury issues in the past, plus neither have played in a meaningful NBA game yet(meaning the playoffs).

Wade is still better than kyrie and not even close in prime and bosh is better than Love.

1. 2011 Heat, only lost due to historically infamous choke
2. 2012 Heat, Bosh got injured, Wade got a bit banged up but still very elite.
3. 2015 Cavs, Klove and Kyrie equal top 10 in their positions
4. 2013 Heat, only won due to historically famous clutch play
5. 2014 Heat, followed "Lebron's lead"

Wade in 2011 and 2012 was a far better individual player than either Love or Irving. Bosh vs. Love is probably a wash.

Both players fit more with Lebron's game, and that is obvious. Both can space the floor with their three point shooting which was one of the things that hurt Lebron especially early when playing with Wade. Both guys thrived on slash and kick outs and with both on the floor it stifled the offense at times. Cleveland will be able to trot out lineups like this:

Irving
Waiters
Miller
Lebron
Love

Five guys on the floor who can hit the three and Love who can clean up the boards. Still, this team might run into similar problems that the Heat did when it comes to matching up with size. The Bulls are a huge threat with two skilled true 7 footers and a healthy Rose. Charlotte has Jefferson and some terrific wing defenders who might be able to run Cavs shooters off the line.

Short answer: Not the prime Heat (2011-2013), but both sidekicks are better fits. Boy this season is going to be fun.

Well Kyrie's fg% and 3pt% have gone down every year and now he prob won't be the main ball handler. Highly overrated.

Loves offensive game is a perfect match though.
