He beat Yao (a future HOF in my opinion) for rookie of the year and put up monster stats with the Suns. Do you think he makes it?

Nope. Niqqa's career was short. He had 7 good years and after that nothing

Borderline in-my-opinion. Only accolades are soe all-star games and Rookie of the Year. Hasn't won a ring or even made it to the Finals, never posted one 20/10 season ever surprisingly. Bunch of 20+/9.

Reggie Miller is the greatest (2nd) three point shooter of all time. Terrible comparison.

He's in the same boat as Gilbert Arenas and Stephon Marbury, they put up nice stats but they aint going to HOF. And their careers ended early

Well to be fair, he had an eye injury which shortened his prime. If he didn't have that injury I think he'd have continued putting up great stats for several more years.

Amare stoudemire is one of the greatest pick and roll big man ever...if not the greatest...
Anybody can cherry pick a random skill...

He's a borderline one IMO. He might get in eventually.

.....what?
Three pointers are a recorded stat by the nba. Comparing three pointers to pick and rolls? Come on now

?
both are a play/skill....and Reggie Miller is not the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever...steph curry and ray allen are better

If Amare gets in then we may as well throw in any guy who can score 20 a game. HOF should be reserved for best of the best and while he was good, he wasn't good enough.

We gonna put someone in the HOF now for setting the best picks?? Tiago Splitter going to the hof?? Being the best pick and roll player does not really compare to being best 3 pt shooter.

neither is Yao.

Nonsense. One is a stat recorded by the nba. As in Reggie Millers name is second in actual record books. Amare? Not so much.
Steph Curry is still young. He will probably get there.

How on earth is it not? :oldlol: list the greatest pick and roll big men of all time and list the best 3 point shooters ever....i bet the former list looks better

Jason Kidd is like 3rd all-time in made 3s but you wouldn't say he was a better shooter than steph curry, would you?

It's like saying "being the one of the greatest post-players ever means nothing"...

neither is Yao.
I think Yao makes it, but more for his contributions to basketball's popularity worldwide. Based solely on NBA career, he's borderline.

The criteria is volume plus ability. The ability is there, the volume is not. Yet.

he's already put up GOAT caliber 3 point shooting seasons...is drazen petrovic (another guy debatable with Miller) not a good shooter because he only player a handful of seasons?

In terms of ability no, but like I said longevity matters.
