View Full Version : Anyone plays Lacrosse?
I started playing a few months ago. First impression is really cool. Since I've played sports my whole life I managed to learn the basic skills quite easily. The sad thing is that lacrosse is basically unknown here in my country so there are very few people who actually know how to play. We have a group of about 7-8 people so the best we can do is play 3 vs 3 with a goalie. Our goal is to get a full team and go play against some junior teams from Finland for example :D Their men's teams are way out of our league.
So, any lacrosse fans around here?

Used to play it in primary school. We had a competition with other schools so played about every week for a couple of months. We won every game. had this one dude who was just a beast. Not gonna lie he carried us. I did my bit though. Had some chick who I swear was a man as the goalkeeper. Some of those balls can come at you pretty hard but she didn't take no shit. Was fun though.
Yeah that's our biggest problem - to find someone willing to be a goalie :D
We don't have family jewels protection gear yet so some of the unluckier guys have felt the worst pain known to mankind :D

Also there is a term called "lacrostitute" to refer to girls who are a part of that subculture and only date lacrosse guys.
High school girls are dumb.
Runners and swimmers are better in bed doe.

I actually live in a city named La Crosse. There's a few statues in the area that have Indians playing it. Here's the main one...

Lacrosse was probably my favorite sport to play in my teens, and the one I had the most success at. I played box lacrosse tho, not field. It was complete shit show. It was pretty popular when I was like 13-16, some pretty big tournaments. Was outside of school. The big provincial tournament was always filled with Natives, and they were crazy good. Kids from the reserves.

I don't know about other places, never actually seen a field lacrosse game but one of the leagues I played in was just filled with dudes looking to fight/hit people. The 17-18 year olds would have some brutal fights. You'd always stay after the game/go watch other games because there'd always be a player who would let everyone know he was scrapping before the game. Not even including all the stick slashing, hits/falls on concrete.
I grew up playing hockey and Lacrosse was wayy more physical and the most physical sport I played. For 18 and under anyways, not sure what it's like when your older.

If Jim Brown love Lacrosse more than football, then it has to be a great sport.
