Serious question.

2 out of four ain't bad at all, but does it equate to a dynasty in this league?

They were together for 4 years.

Nowhere near being a "dynasty."

4 seasons isn't long enough.

Not by NBA standards.

Mini-Dynasty.

Sort of like the Kobe/Gasol Lakers, the Bad Boys or Goin' to Work Pistons, Hakeem's Rockets, 70's Knicks and Celtics, Lakers and Bucks...teams that were contenders every year for 4-6 seasons, but won 2 or fewer titles.

True Dynasties...3 or more titles, 6 or more years of contending...

Mikan Lakers (48-54)
Russell Celtics (57-69)
Showtime Lakers (80-91)
80's Celtics (81-88)
Jordan Bulls (90-98)
Shaq/Kobe Lakers (99-04)
Duncan/Pop Spurs (99-14)

I don't consider them a dynasty. What do people think about the Tim Duncan Spurs? 1999 to present? 5 titles in 15 seasons?

Nah, mini-dynasty maybe. An interesting question would be if the Heat reach the finals for a 5th straight year (certainly possible) would that count toward continuing their mini-dynasty? If they win a title in the next 2 years does that make it a legit dynasy or do they start over since it's not "the big 3" anymore?

Would be similar to the Bulls in '94 had they won? Same team, many of the same players, but not the best player.

no.

I think the "4 finals in a row" really brings a lot of noise to the dynasty talk.

impressive, but the truth is that if they switched places with the Thunder...the Heat would have, at most, 2 finals appearances and 2 titles.

I know we could play that game with a lot of teams, but the Heat played in one of the worst conferences I can remember for like 3 years. And not only did it allow them to work less in the regular season, but the playoffs were easier as well.

I'd put it on par with the Kobe/Gasol Lakers...and under the Bad Boy Pistons.

Lakers did the same in the three years and less talent imo.

They were 2 Wade sabotages away from being the GOAT team from the 2000's

would have had 4 STRAIGHT rings

Not even the Bulls did that

More like they were a lucky fluke from Ray Allen away from being 1/4 in the Finals :oldlol:

The two they got should be enjoyed, it very easily could've been just 1.

I mean the Larry O' Brien trophy was brought onto the floor ... you literally cannot come any closer to the brink of losing in the Finals.

Bran stans should be happy with the 2, they were fortunate to even get that.

The West those years were light years better than the east. I know you retarded but you are going into GOAT status...

If people call the bad boy pistons a "dynasty" i guess u can call the Heat a dynasty

They were a conference-dynasty. They came together and in four years not a single team from the East won a series against them.

But back-to-back champions is not a dynasty.

So... no.

Have to win at least 3 with basically the same squad/center piece/pieces staying put. Lakers early 2000s were a Dynasty... Lakers of a few years ago, not a dynasty.

wally_world

Not a dynasty but they'll be remembered and brought up frequently for a long long time to come.

The only actual dynasties are probably Russell Celtics, Bird Celtics, Magic Lakers, MJ Bulls, Kobe/Shaq Lakers, and Pops/Duncan Spurs.
