Obviously, nobody at that time had any idea how good of a coach PJax would become. In all seriousness though, Spo is actually a really good coach in terms of scheme, philosophy, and game planning. He's just not (yet) a very good in-game coach IMO. That comes with experience.

We will see how good he is this season, now that he longer has the league's best player. Has zero playoff series victories without Lebron, but 4 straight Finals trips with Lebron. Anything less than a trip to the ECF this year and Spo will be exposed as a complete and utter fraud.

All of these guys played for coaches who will end up in the hall of fame, Spoelstra may be the exception if he never coaches successfully again.

Wilt won his first title under Alex Hannum, a top ten coach all-time. Kareem won four with Riley, a top five all-time.
