Only if it's on the offensive end. :oldlol:

I could it see it happening. He's always been a solid locker room leader and does what the coaches tell him.

Maybe he will win the MVP that was stolen from him when he led a sad sap Knicks team to 54 wins.

Or like when the ROY award was stolen from him.

No doubt, hah!

DFish was a better choice than Kerr, imo. More vocal/respected from a players stand point. Not a fan of the Knicks, but from an outsider looking in, a lot of their issues stemmed from coaching. The leadership just crashed.

I think if all goes right, NY can definitely be a top 5 team in the east.

stalkerforlife
08-11-2014, 02:31 PM
Yeah, stolen by the best player in the game :facepalm

Melo was the real ROY, no question.

And, IMO, he was more valuable to the Knicks than Lebron was to a stacked team.

I guess he was using HGH like Lebron & Wade too  :hammerhead:

ROY is debatable. Statistically they had very similar seasons, except LeBron had over 3 more assists per game.

MVP had to go to LeBron that year. Ridiculous FG%, an even more ridiculous 27 game win streak, and the best record in the league. The best player on the best team in the league typically gets the benefit of the doubt for MVP.

You sound really, really bitter.

Their both debatable but the ROY even more so because Melo averaged more points and rebounds and his team made the playoffs, while the cavs didnt.

It isn't. I would guess that most NBA players (especially those who are 30+) ice their knees after a workout.

gotta be in shape if you're going to play the Kobe/MJ role in the Triangle.

He should work on his strength and post game then play PF full time :pimp:
So he can defend 3's and has huge physical mismatches at the 3. But you want him to give away those advantages to play the 4?

He only makes it 2/3's of a season when the roster has huge holes in it or when a coach is dumb enough to want him at the 4.

But don't worry, it's not just you. A lot of people don't understand that what you do on the offensive end doesn't define what "position" you play. Positions are defensive and about who you cover. On offense the best use of Carmelo is as a 4 or 5, but with a 3 covering him.

oh the horror
08-11-2014, 03:27 PM
I don't think guys realize how beneficial it is to slim down later in your careers. The body carrying around weight isn't great on the knees

The '13 MVP is not even close to being debatable. 29/6/3/1/1 on 56% TS vs 27/8/7/2/1 on 64% TS. The Heat won 66 games and went on a 27 game streak. LeBron also missed only 5 games while Melo missed 15 games.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting the typical "Melo is in shape" thread w/ a pic of him looking exactly the same as he's always looked (I never considered him as being overweight btw) but this doesn't even look like the same person. Dude definitely looks slimmer.
