Just concluded.

Our annual Summer Forecast series is back!

OUR NEW PREDICTION ENGINE

These Summer Forecast predictions are powered by ESPN Forecast.

Over the next two weeks, we'll roll out our predictions for how each team will do this season, as well as the 2014-15 Rookie of the Year, Best Newcomer, Worst Newcomer, MVP, conference champions and NBA champs. We'll also examine which teams will make the biggest turnarounds this season and which teams could be in for the most turmoil.

For our results, we surveyed our ESPN Forecast panel on each topic.

Let's begin with a look at the conference that could see the biggest shakeup at the top with LeBron James (and reportedly Kevin Love) joining the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. We'll announce one team every half-hour (from 1 to 15), starting at 11 a.m. ET.

To participate in the discussion and perhaps get your opinion published on this page, #ESPNForecast is the Twitter hashtag to use. Or you can just follow along @ESPNNBA.

Let's begin ...

56 wins for the Cavs out in the East is far too little.

Cavs are going to feast on the Least. 60 wins at least.

And I can totally see yet another sub .500 team making the playoffs in the Least, while another 48+ win team misses out in the West.

:facepalm

Good list, generally speaking.

*Cleveland at 56 wins is a solid projection, although I see them more in the 60-62 range. They will have to make significant adjustments with a new coach, new system and having 2 new players as their top 2. Remember, the 11' Heat started out 9-8. It is likely the Cavs will have some shaky moments early in the season, although it also is possible that they will gel immediately like the "Big 3" Celtics did (66-16), although that team had continuity in terms of coaching and the system. The Cavs are having several major changes occur and have many inexperienced players.
*Chicago is close, although I see the Bulls more in the 56-58 range.
*I agree with the Raptors and Wizards being the "best of the rest."
*Miami is correctly rated. Look at the historical evidence regarding teams losing a GOAT-caliber player.
*I hope ESPN is right and Carmelo "I just want to win" remains in the Eastern cellar.

People expect 3 stars that have never played together, and have a new coach, to easily win 60+? lol

If Cavs can slay the GOAT east teams this year, it would be epic :applause:

Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving will miss a combined 35+ games, thus putting a heavy load on LeBron's shoulders, they will only win 49 games because of not having enough time on the court and depending upon aging veterans too much early on.

Cavs fans can't accept good fortune well. Just accept you will be good and move on.

I think Knicks are a playoff team. They were one two years ago, with Woodson and literally having no offense. Last year the team basically rebelled from December on and missed the playoffs by a game.

I also do not think the Nets are 8th. If everyone is healthy they should be higher, and if people are not there season will absolutely go to shit. But i don't see them middling in 8th.
