Raw ring count isn't as important as the ability to put your team in position to win championships as the primary catalyst, and if you have the opportunity, will your way to wins.

But none of those guys ever got outplayed by Leonard in a playoff series...

Durant. And Lebron put up better numbers than Durant against the same Spurs team.

What? How did KD get outplayed by Kawhi?

Just getting myself frustrated. I know I shouldn't bite, but it's hard to ignore some of these.

Leonard is easily better than Rose. Melo is arguable I suppose, but I'd give Melo the nod. There's many things you have to factor in aside from the two things you stated:confusedshrug: .

I probably would take Leonard over Melo.

The same way Kawhi "outplayed" LeBron, as the haters so claim

not ISH
FMVP count is bran's stan's gimmick to downplay kobe and his five rings

Nowitness

Yes. He is.

Best player on a title team, Melo couldn't even make the playoffs in the East during his prime. Need I say more, Melo isn't even top 25 of his draft after last year.

Good logic, but unfortunetly, 95% of ISH use FMVPs and mostly rings to rank players.

i think of titles as tie breakers between comparable players

kawhi's personal success hasnt yet matched his team success.

if youre already a dominant individual player. then whatever you accomplish will be compared/tie breakers with other dominant individual players

i think a bit of common sense is used.

like if say carmelo anthony did what kawhi did. then he would obviously be put ahead of durant

sometimes theres fluke finals mvps. i actually think it would have been tony parker if he had a more solid final game. he averaged almost 20ppg aswell. but kawhi got his at the right time

lie, lie, lie!
If that was the case, you wouldnt use it to compare Lebron and Kobe. Lebron is way better than Kobe.

a comparable player is grouped like his

- a legend title ( i.e. top 1-20 player )

- a superstar title ( i.e. top 20-50 player )

- an allstar title ( i.e. top 50-200 player )

- a role player title ( i.e. top 200-500 player )

- a nobody title ( i.e. top 500-unlimited player )

Agreed, Kobe is in superstar title and Lebron is in the legend title. So not comparable.

bye, next!

But legends: miss the playoffs in their prime; choke a 3-1 series lead; and shoot a finals away on 38% shooting whilst playing with MDE?

Got it.

Magic Johnson ain't a legend :biggums:

In Game 4, the Lakers had a five point game lead with less than a minute to play, but made several execution errors, including Magic Johnson's bad pass to Robert Parish late in the 4th quarter as the Celtics tied the game and then came away with a 129-125 victory in overtime. Johnson was called "Tragic Johnson" by Celtics fans due to the two crucial errors he committed in Game 4 (the Parish steal, followed by two botched free throws in OT).
