Exactly. Saying ignorant and hateful things about the race that contains about 95% of NBA employees really is no big deal, at all. I don't even see why he wasn't praised and awarded a bonus franchise for saying those things.

Happy day for Clipper fans and all LA fans.
Lets see how committed to winning Balmer is. At this point anyone can do better than Sterling.

Remember people, be careful what you say in private....or you can be illegally be recorded and stripped of your 30 year owned business....based on one conversation.

I understand the point of what some posters are saying. Selling the team was a very dramatic consequence.
Think about it from a business POV. The NBA had to act. How many billions of dollars would have been lost from the NBA by protests from both, the players AND the fans?

More like if you behave in a racist way for like 30+ years, don't be surprised if it eventually comes back to bite you in the ass, especially when you own a franchise mostly staffed by people of the ethnicity you're making insensitive remarks about and big money sponsors don't want to be associated with your comments.
To be honest he probably could've kept his team had he come out more quickly and apologized in a more forceful manner anyway.

Remember those idiots (looking at you Number6) who said Sterling couldn't be forced to sell against his will?

Ballmer "I think it's a great day for the city of Los Angeles to finally get rid of the bigotry within this organaziation. And trust me, when it comes to Donald Sterling, I won't let that kyke bastard anywhere near this team any longer. You have my word."

Chickens finally came home to roost on ol' Donny. It's all too fitting that his minority mistress was the one who did him in.

Racism isn't a big deal? It always is, especially when the team you own contains mostly black players. If it wasn't a big deal, then why did the Clippers lose all their sponsors? Maybe it's because I'm in SoCal, which means I'm around blacks, Hispanics, and Asians pretty much every day, but there's no reason to believe that one race is superior to the others, especially in 2014, over 40 years since the Civil Rights act was passed.

same reason why the nba reacted. it was all business. he been doing stupid stuff for years yet the sponsors were still there. just because this one blew up they distance their self.
many of not most business only care about the bottom line not how they get there.
i am just glad someone owns them i hope cares about winning vs just making money.

As a Clipper fan I welcome Ballmer and am thrilled!!!
Anybody that knows anything about Ballmer knows he's a fiery passionate competitor that wants to win at all costs.
I have full confidence that his hunger for winning will translate onto the floor for many many years to come.
smh@ anybody defending Donald. They simply don't get it or are racists themselves.
Idiots can go suck a d*ck.
