Is Durant a better play maker than Lebron?

We already proved in another thread that Durant is now a better playmaker than LeBron. They both averaged 6 assists per game last season but Durant turned the ball over less on his passes and got his assists at a much more efficient rate despite having a less efficent supporting cast. But yeah I'll give you LeBron as the better off ball defender.

Regardless, Durant averaged 30/10 vs the Grizzlies and LIT THEM UP in both elimination games of the series and you have desperate LeBron stans acting like Durant got shutdown :facepalm

For comparison, KD's numbers: 123/285 (1.52/game) for the season, 28/72 (1.47/game) for the playoffs.

Not only does Durant turn the ball over less on his passes, but he also gets more assists per pass. Adjusting for LeBron's supporting cast and pass total, Durant would get 8 assists per game where LeBron only got 6.

The numbers make it rather clear who the better passer was last season: The MVP.

So they were about even in that category.

LeBron had more bad passes because he passed the ball more. LeBron averaged 6.3 assists per game on 3.5 TOV's. KD had 5.5 with the same number of TOV's. Heck, rookie LeBron had more assists than KD had last season.

Durant had a better passing rate on his passes than LeBron last year. He turned the ball over more in other areas, but passing the ball 10 times more per game would not lead to an almost 2 turnovers per game spike for Durant.

And again, you have to consider that Durant plays with two guys who opposing defenses didn't even guard last year. And he also played half of the year without Westbrook...

Giving him LeBrons supporting cast, pass total, and easier SOS in the East and his numbers would likely be even BETTER than what we can assume based strictly off of data.
