1999: Vs Less Ewing Knicks in a lockout year. (First 8 seed in the finals) Robinson best Player. (could be duncan)

2003: vs Jason Kidd Nets (2nd worst finalist ever) Duncan Best player

2005: vs Detroit Pistons (Great Team) Ginobili Best player

2007: vs Cleveland Cavaliers (Worst finalist ever) Parker Best Player

2013: vs Miami Heat (Lost the series) Leonard Best Player (in the spurs)

2014 vs Miami Heat (Great Team) Leonard Best Player

conclusion:

6 Finals
Only 1 Time the best player in the finals (maybe 2 if you count 1999). Lets say 2. Only the best player against inferior teams, not against detroit or miami (dont forget his best game against detroit was game 7 and he shot 9-27 FG). Thats 2/6 at most.

Lebron James is 2/5 agaisnt better teams. (2 times MVP of the series).

conclusion:

Carried all his career by prime Parker (top 5 all time PG), prime Manu (top 5 all time SG), GOAT coach Pop and Drob (top 10 all time C).

Tim Duncan is one shuttlesworth 3 away from being 6/6 in the NBA Finals.

Run along now.

Parker from 03-07 was averaging 17/3/5. He won three rings with prime Duncan.

Wade from 2011-2014 averaged 20/5/4. He won two rings with prime LeBron in the weakest era in league history.

Luck?

It's crazy to think that Duncan is one Ray Allen shot away from being 6-0 in the Finals...

so?

So, if TP is a top 5 PG who carried Duncan, that must make Wade a top 2 (?) SG who carried LeBron. The math is there, Bob. Don't hide from it.

You quoted the post and added that Kawhi will be a top 10 SF.

Popovich condoned Bowen's behavior, ya know?

i admited Duncan is the best PF ever, even better than Malone.

Why cant you admit at least 1 time Duncan played with GREAT GREAT teammates. not only Ginobili or Parker...also Horry, Bowen, Leonard, D. Robinson and many many more....he had 10 of the best 30 role players ever in his teamduring his carrer, barry or even finley, also green, diaw, list continues....come on TLP....

All great teammates bro. Manu is the second greatest European player ever (if you want to call him a Euro). For a couple of years Tony was a superstar. Kawhi is one of the best defenders in the league. Horry was clutch. Robinson was incredibly stable and very efficient (when he officially became a role player).

It's when people claim Duncan got carried, or that he was the best player on his team for like 4 years total. That's what is really absurd.

1999 Finals
Duncan 27.4 pts / 14 rebs / 2.4 assts / 2.2 blks
DRob 16.6 pts / 11.8 rebs / 2.4 assts / 3 blks

2005 Finals
Duncan 20.6 pts / 14.1 rebs / 2.1 assts / 2.1 blks
Manu 18.7 pts / 5.9 rebs / 4 assts

2007 Finals
Duncan 18.3 pts / 11.5 rebs / 3.8 assts / 2.3 blks
Parker 24.5 pts / 5 rebs / 3.3 assts
The key to beating the Cavs was controlling Lebron - Duncan denying him the paint and forcing Lebron into Bowen-contested jump shots.

2013 Finals
Duncan 18.9 pts / 12.1 rebs / 1.4 assts / 1.4 blks
Parker 15.7 pts / 6.4 assts
Leonard 14.4 pts / 11.1 rebs / 2 stls

2014 Finals
I have no problem saying that Leonard thoroughly deserved FMVP. He brought it on BOTH sides of the floor.

You should thank your lucky stars for the Ray Allen 3 and the Spurs messing up or Duncan might be sitting on 6 rings with 4 FMVPs.

Lol, at quoting rebounds but not steals...and manu pllayed less minutes....

2005 Finals per 36

Manu: 26.5 PTS
Duncan: 22.3 PTS

Manu best player on the spurs in games 1, 2, 6 and 7. (duncan shot 10-27 that last game)

Horry best player game 5.

Games 3 and 4, all best players in detroit.

The End.
