Tim Donaghy didn't work that series and he's the only officiating problem that this league has ever had.

So no, it wasn't rigged.

Only LeBald fans say it was rigged in an attempt to lessen the ring count gap between Le* and GOATbe.

Excellent argument, solid logic, really nothing to answer here...

/thread, I guess?

Rigged? Who knows? There was some awful officiating in that series. It didn't solely favor the Lakers, the Kings had some crucial calls go their way in game 5.

The ball went off Webber but they ruled it off Horry.

Even Bobby Jackson admits he fouled Kobe on the last play. The crucial calls in that game went to Sac.

Poor officiating throughout the series, with game 6 being the worst.

game 6 was clearly rigged.

game 7 in the 2000 series against portland was also, the calls were ridiculous, check the videos on youtube. Look at the 4th quarter, there was no way the refs were going to let LAL lose. Pretty sad to look at clearly rigged games in this sport...but it's true.

Kings got the benefit of the calls far more than the Lakers did in that series. Underdogs always cry the loudest. That series would never made it to game 6 without the Kings getting beneficial calls in the earlier games. Lakers were the better team, flat out.

LAKERS SHOT 27 FREE THROWS IN THE 4TH QUARTER OF GAME 6.

Rigged = Chris Webber leaves Robert Horry WIDE OPEN at the top of the key for the game-winner, otherwise Kings win in 5

Game 7 - Peja AIRBALLS wide open corner three that would have won the game

Game 6 was shaky officiating no lie, but the Kings had so many other opportunities to win the series and they blew it. Also doesn't help that they missed 7 FTs in Game 6, it was decided by 4 points. Kings only had 3 less FTA in Game 7 (thanks to intentional fouls in late game), they MISSED 14 FREE THROWS, the game was decided in OT by 6 points. Missing 14 out of 30 FTs, airballing wide open three that would win the game...

They blew that series, PERIOD.

...I like the Lakers but no.
that Kings team was stacked and had great chemistry as a team.

omg, the amount of people who became Wade fans after this rigged final :facepalm.

The only fun mid 2000s finals that I saw was the 2004-2005 Pistons vs. Spurs. A

No one gives facts as to why the SERIES was rigged. The series only had one game, where Lakers were favored by foul calls. The series was one three away from being 1 - 3 for the Lakers with Kings having 2 more home games. They flat out blew the series in crunch time.

I definitely will never say for sure it wasn't rigged.

How Kobe Bryant elbowed Bibby and Bibby was called for the foul was something that will never leave me.

Bullshit. One of the worst calls in NBA history. NBA wanted LA in the finals. Or at least did not want SAC/NJ.

You're just going to overlook the fact that Kings had 2 other chances other than Game 6 "rigging" to win the series and they choked both times.

That's not really the point. The point is that game 6 was legitimately FIXED. Are NBA fans ok with this?

OKC gets some serious home cooking at times, no one cares because it's OKC

Kings blew 2 games in that series that weren't the refs fault. Shooting 53% on FTs on your home floor, given 30 FTA? cmon.

Jesus, why do Lakers fans always pull the card of the Kings blew multiple chances to close the series. The series would've BEEN closed in game 6 if LA wasn't giftwrapped 27 freaking free throws in the fourth quarter, including Kobe elbowing Bibby in the head which was then called a foul on Bibby.

The NBA wanted LA in the finals, plain and simple. You can't skate around that.

The series WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED in 5 had the Kings not let Robert Horry get a wide open three.
