He wanted to trade Kobe for Shawn Marion and Jason Kidd. If he pulls that off and Shaq stays, how many championships do they win? Assume it's at the 2000 trade deadline.

la wins in 2004/05/06/07. Imagine almost prime shaq being fed by kidd and not by some emotionally unstable shot jacker.

none

kobe - saved 2000 wcf game 7
kobe - 30/7/6 2001 playoffs
kobe - saved 2002 wcf game 7
shaq - 350 pounds and no motivation since 2003
shaq - no diet and conditioning turn around out of spite for kobe
shaq - no 2005 or 2006 good seasons after letting go even more

shaqs record as #1 option

1993 - swept
1994 - swept
1995 - swept
1996 - lost 1-4
1997 - swept
1998 - swept
1999 - swept
2000 - title ( but saved by kobe )

other than those years. every other year someone else took pressure off shaq as FGA's leader

shaq was never good as the #1 guy on offense. he was efficient. not a great leader

the only reason shaq won those finals mvps was because kobe got him there so he could beat up on some weak east teams

shaq was a back to the basket 1 on 1 post player. not a tyson chandler pick and roll guy

shaq brags all the time about it and tells dwight to be more like how he was.

it wouldnt have mattered if kidd was there.

infact. kidds talents would have went to waste due to the triangle offense

and also shaq wouldnt have had a great inside/out combo attack due to kidd not being a great shooter at the time. nore could he create his own shot

a guy like kidd is only good in an offense with a ton of athletic wings and guys to run the floor. he is a ball dominant PG

thats not how phil runs things. and it would have failed

the only way jacksons offense ever worked was with Point/forwards or shooting guards that pass while the traditional pg was replaced by a guy who just sat in the corner for kick out threes. ( ala kerr/paxson/fisher etc.. )
