Roster is over 16 players now. That means someone has to be on the trading block.

More likely a training camp cut than a trade right now.

That or Bruno might get sent to the D-League perhaps.

Even in the D-league Bruno would still count against our 15 man roster limit.

Looks like its Hamilton vs Cherry for the last spot

True. From what I've seen from both of them, I'm kinda intrigued who will get it. I like both players. I still think Masai may trade somebody to clear a roster spot for both players.

I think there is a chance that Hansbrough could be moved towards the end of camp if it looks like Hamilton will make it and Casey wants to keep Cherry as the 3rd PG.

Nope this... D League counts against the limit somehow as mentioned.

Frankly it has to be Hansboro or Hayes. Maybe Sweet Lou but I doubt it given our need for swing man depth.

I would be chagrined if it happened.

Our big rotation is : Val/Amir/PP/ Bebe (the new other Bazillian). While its good its also unproven ; and I like Hayes / Hansboro to soke up minutes and foul issues for the other 4 who are all capable of being in foul trouble or cold.

* assumption. Its not Fields

At this point in time I frankly hate the idea of another move. Shockingly I like Hayes / Hansboro / Fields because of the expiring contracts and eventual cap room. If that whole "Drake blow up" is even "close to the truth" I would rather have those contracts for the year to come of the cap to make a run at a particular player.

I don't like Hayes as a player but I still see his value on a young front court. I'm not sure what's going to happen here.

There is absolutely no doubt that Bruno will spend some time in the d-league but even in the D he still counts against our roster limit, so there still needs to another move made besides sending him down.

Not just the front court, but for the whole team too. I remember last season a game when Memphis came to Toronto and when DeMar started the game badly and Hayes went right to him in the timeout, grabbed him and said in his ear what's up and what he has do to be become better. DeMar's body language opened up and he listened. Raptors were down early but then eventually came back and won the game. DeMar has a big 4th quarter too.

That's why you need these locker room presence players. Hayes is the oldest guy on the current team and the only player over 30 years old. If we lose him, I would actually pretty nervous as to who can step up their leadership on the team if they feel into a losing streak.

Completely agree. I am actually hoping we resign Hayes (obviously at a more reasonable salary - closer to the vet's min).
