Being a martial arts fan, this scene in Dragon (Wu Xia) just blew me away.

Story behind this scene:

Donnie Yen is a great martial artist trying to hide his past. Assassins he used to work with finally caught up with him. They are trying to make him confess who he really is in front of his wife and kid and the village he lives in. What happens when they start killing other villagers is truly one of the most awesome fighting scenes I've seen in recent memory.

[QUOTE]A grand jury indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two felony counts on Friday, charging that he abused his power last year when he tried to pressure the district attorney here, a Democrat, to step down by threatening to cut off state financing to her office.

The indictment left Mr. Perry, a Republican, the first Texas governor in nearly 100 years to face criminal charges and presented a major roadblock to his presidential ambitions at the very time that he had been showing signs of making a comeback.

Grand jurors in Travis County charged Mr. Perry with abusing his official capacity and coercing a public servant, according to Michael McCrum, the special prosecutor assigned to the case.

The long-simmering case has centered on Mr. Perry

One of my favorite scenes, Believe it or not from a Spike Lee movie.

As a New Yorker, I do find this too racist but Edward Norton is a brilliant actor. Not a pretty boy actor like Leo, I could see Edward Norton in a war movie but not Leo.

I like Leo but he can never really do a serious role like this because of his appearance IMO i.e. American History x.

I'm a New Yorker born and raised so I'm assuming that will make it even MORE enjoyable.

And I like Leo, one of my favorites.

2 from the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford:

Opening Scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2gY_e1ZKD8)

Train Robbery Scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzinPgsxokE)

That film confirmed the genius of Roger Deakins for me. That opening scene just draws you in. He uses time lapse and a fish eye lens with vignetting to make certain shots look like old photographs in the first video. And the use of light and placement of the cameras in the train robbery scene is something I never saw before, or since really. Seeing this in low res youtube videos doesn't do it justice. I got the opportunity to see it in 70mm on a big screen.

Speaking of martial arts movies- Hero had some great ones. Really visually stunning flick:

Arrow Rain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6EknwERf3o)

Lake Fight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGq6FXcpxtY&feature=related)

Some others:

Blade Runner: Tears in Rain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoAzpa1x7jU)

Road to Perdition: 'I'm glad it's you' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_4Sx5NtOPM)

Ragin Bull: You Never Got Me Down, Ray (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wwItkoapuA)

Maybe my favorite scene ever:

Godfather Part II: The Murder of Fanucci (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgCBUXXoDvM)

That's Vito's character summed up in 7 minutes right there- ruthless, cunning, patient, and even murderous when he needs to be. But also a man who loves his family above all else.

"Ali"- scene where Ali starts fighting back in the famous Rumble in Zaire

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGFr0JCqxb4

Actually pretty much this whole video.

Highly recommended movie. As long as you don't mind watching a 2-3 hour movie. Might want to watch in breaks. A lot of is the historic story behind him. About 3-4 fight scenes.

The Lives of Others
- The ending. "Sonata for a Good Man". A perfect ending to an incredible movie.

Closer
- Pretty much any scene with Clive Owen. One of the best acting performances I've seen. This one always gets me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbeXU9FIFw8

The Gold Rush
- My favourite Chaplin movie. Iconic scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XefGvxVKrZk

Little Children
- Ronnie was a child molester, released from prison and now lives with his mother. The mother dies. The last note from her simply reads "Please be a good boy". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm7-Lg0kWfk

And of course "Meet me in Montauk" from Eternal Sunshine but already mentioned.

Great call. Joaquin had the performance of the year IMO, but DDL as Lincoln was the ultimate oscar bait. No way anyone was beating him. But this scene right here is a perfect example of why:

The special effects and makeup probably seem cheesy compared to today's CGI standards, but it was pretty groundbreaking for it's time.
