...but not yet. he's only turning 36. with the way the league is today. guys can play till their 40's. since lebron joined the nba we've seen allot softer rules that has extended careers of many guys.

- ray allen
- steve nash
- tim duncan

just to name a few.

obviously one day there will come a time that kobe won't have anything left to give. but i doubt with these rules at only 36 even with slower legs will he be unable to score 24-25ppg on a good percentage for a guy who takes a ton of threes ( 44-45% )

i think personally that kobe does want the all time scoring record. i just think he's too smart to go out and say it publicly. i think hes signing these little 2-3 year deals to toy with people and trick his wife. we all know she wants him to retire since she said shes only putting up with more seasons if he wins more rings.

but he's honestly not going to retire at 35k. he'l be 37 years old. and by then the lakers will have atleast added one more star for the future. he will want to test his legs to see if he can make a run at it one or 2 more times

and with another 2 year extension he will be 39 years old when he hangs it up. all time scoring champ and still leaving time on the table.

theres absolutely no reason why a 39 year old kobe bryant cant average 20 points. i just dont see how he cant do it even as 2nd option.

kobe will be the all time scoring leader. mark my words. and he will be finished when he says hes finished or he tears another achilles in half.

he will get the last laugh. this leagues too ***** officiated and protecting its wing players to stop it from happening. why do you people think theres such an overwheling surge of point guards and bigs are dying off. it isnt because theres a lack of big people on earth. its because the game changed.

deal with it.

He averaged 13 ppg last season, and now that he's a year older you expect him to average 25?! :facepalm

lol it was his training camp basically with very limited minutes due to it being his first actual game time. he wasnt even close to being done rehabing. and ontop of that he was attempting to play point guard due to 3 point guards on LA being injured at the time. which is why he was averaging 8 assists per 36min during the only week he played before the broken leg.

believe me if he wasnt trying so hard to pass he would have averaged 20-25

and his last game before the broken leg he had 21 points on 50% in only 32 minutes

infact 3 times he scored 20 points that week.

so when hes 100% and has allot of games on his belt with 2 guys in the lineup taking care of the playmaker role. i'm positive his average will be up around 25 a game. especially with no pau gasol out there. dude is gonna be back in 2006 mode most likely. in less minutes obviously. but the same kind of touches when he is on the floor.
