View Full Version : How Come Nobody Wanted To Sign With The Bulls During The Championship Years?

Did nobody want to play with Jordan? The only big name free agent they signed during the Championship years was Robert Parish. But he was way past his prime.
Nobody was opposed to playing on those Bulls teams, Reinsdorf was simply cheap. They built thru the draft, and would only shop for bargain veterans in free agency, IE Harper or Kerr.

And OP is a fakkit
I think many players were intimidated by his trash talking as opponents. They probably didn't want to deal with to a whole 82+ games during the season as his teammate.
Just ask Rodney McCray...

Do you realize the crap any of those guys would have went under playing with Jordan? Jordan would have had a field day ragging them on for beating them AND for them joining his team. I shudder to think of the verbal abuse they would endure during practices if he was that hard on Scottie.

So a guy like LeBron had no competitive fire, left Cleveland cause he couldn't do it and took the easy route by talking to D-Wade and Chris Bosh to join together to win NBA Championships right? And left Miami cause the old stacked team ran it's course so he goes back to Cleveland to a possibly better and younger talent and get a better chance. With also the addition of Shawn Marion (if it happens) and Mike Miller off the bench.

Collusion wasn't really en vogue in the 90s. Guys were more interested in competing and proving they were the best, not trying to team up and coast to rings.

Clyde wanted to go back home to Houston and Suns wanted Barkley out of Phoenix.

Everyone pictured was in their mid 30s when they were on the same team. How old were/are the varying members of the LeBron James handpicked all star squads?
Hell, dude jumped ship as soon as it looked like Whistle was entering his golden years and traded him up for a 22 and 25 year old all star :oldlol:

Exactly. This is stupid just like claiming 04 lakers and 13 lakers were unfair with the stars they had:facepalm Only lebron cheats with playing with other stars in their PRIME.
Clyde Drexler with some perspective,
"If I had not gone to Houston, I would not have a ring . . . You need multiple stars (to win a championship). You always have . . . When I was in Portland, we had players good enough to get to the Finals but the super teams are going to get us".

There's maybe 4 cases in NBA history where a great player won a title without a great teammate
1975 Warriors
1994 Rockets
2003 Spurs
2011 Mavericks
Every other all time great in history got some form of substantial help along the way, whether it be in the regular season, playoffs, or finals. This "winning titles without other great players" belief is pure myth
