He was quite disgraceful with his barreling into opposing players looking for fouls, or as ESPN calls it, 'old school' and 'crafty'.
However, he was effective

Looks like the same Harden as always...can only shoot 3's and flop for fouls.
He was James Harden.

The players on Team USA must have thought he was playing fine. They kept giving him the ball to bring it up the court and set up the offense. He took his usual ill advised 3s and was effective on the drive. I think he tried to play some defense though.

You are so ****ing delusional it's unbelievable. At one point the dude had 8 points on zero field goals. He is the quintessential ball hogging, system manipulating, smelly black hole. His game is straight out of Houston, it's like he gives no shits about changing his game or adapting to the setting. Dude legit thinks he's Lebron out there and can do whatever the hell he wants to.
3 on 1 fast break for Team USA...Harden blatantly ignores his teammates and flails his arms for a foul when he could've made ONE extra pass to get a teammate an easy bucket.
Harden has the ball at the top..holds on to it for 12 seconds, then bulldozes his way to the rim until he's stripped, and as expected he flops like he got kicked in the dick by Kimbo Slice.
****ing LOL at "tried to play some defense"...Steve Nash once tried to play defense. He still sucked ass at it. The sad part is that James Harden is big and athletic for his position.
Had 18 extremly efficient points.
Looked good to me.

Harden needs to learn how to be the 2nd option. I think if he played #2 to Howard instead of trying to be the man he would be way better

This team is going nowhere if Harden is the go to guy. Dude's gonna flop his way to an L, that shit's not gonna fly in this tournament.
Davis however looked fantastic, and Rose had some good moments as well, so it's not too bleak.
no pun intended

He was James Harden.
Pretty much this. Not sure why I even expected him to change his playing style.
I liked what I saw.
He wasnt bad. Had two or three nonreawrded drives to the basket, but also two or three rewarded drives. So it balanced out. Defense was fine.
I would be more angry about the freethrows had he not been playing for the USA though. Im sure that's how Rockets fans feel when they see him play.

Neither Harden or Howard is really cut out to be a #1 option (for a serious contender). When Howard goes one-on-one every play it doesn't necessarily make the Rockets flow better. Sure maybe the competition can drop off some time in the next 4-5 years and they can win a championship but assuming it doesn't these guys are first/second round exit type of leaders. Harden is a flopping extraordinaire and in the playoffs the refs swallow their whistles. Howard is pushing 30 years old and is who he is.

Ya know the thing is, I don't really enjoy watching him shoot as many free throws as he does, but when they slow it down and show the replay, very rarely is he not fouled. Or rather, very rarely is it not a foul when he is fouled.
He does that scoop to where people slap him on the arm when they are playing a bad defense. Its not his fault they are out of position. Actually, it kind of IS his fault they are out of position and reach.
I don't like him shooting 9 FTs a game (which isn't really that much when you think about it) and would rather him do front flip dunks and shoot 35 bombs, but I can't be mad when hes going 10-10 from the FT line.

Do you think Sam Presti is right for trading him because he saw some of these tendencies and unwilliness to sacrifice for the bettermeant of the Thunder?
I don't know if he would've been happy being third fiddle long term.

He has been top 5 in scoring two years in a row, and when you toss in 6 assits and 5 boards per game, why would he be happy being third fiddle?
Would you want to be top 5 in scoring and top 5 in the MVP ladder, or, third fiddle on a team? I suppose he could have won a title in OKC at this point, but some just prefer being a top dog I guess.
