Assuming that both of these cores will stay healthy, which would you rather build around?

Brandon Roy
Grant Hill
Alonzo Mourning

Or

James Harden
Scottie Pippen
Yao Ming

Harden, Pippen, Yao and then cut Harden.

Interesting. I believe Hill, at his peak, is the best player in this group. He was LeBron before LeBron. And Harden is the worst, at this point in his career. But that Pippen/Yao combo could lead to a dynasty if Yao stays healthy and you build the team the right away. A has the better defense and is the most rounded 3, B has the better offense and the best combination of two players to build around.

I think I'll go with B.

I'd take Roy/Hill/Zo. Roy is better than Harden and Hill vs Pip is basically a wash. I'd rather have Zo's defense and activity over Yao if I am building a team with wing talent like Roy and Hill. Zo is no slouch on offense and he would be a great big to have on the break and setting screens with those 2.

That would make it way too one sided

Pippen and Yao both healthy.

Harden can get traded to the highest bidder.

On a side note, ideally for the second core.. I'd convert Harden back to a Manu like 6th man role, so I'd have that creator coming off the bench who can play major minutes, and give the team a spark. I'd honestly rather that them him chucking up bad shots with they starting unit.

Fully healthy careers? Zo, Hill, and Roy...and it's not that close.

I like the Pippen and Yao combo but Harden really fvcks it up for me. So I gotta go with Roy/Hill/Zo. That's a good balanced core

Peak Yao was averaging 25 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2 blocks on 51.6% shooting. No way peak Zo was that much better

It should look more like "Zo > Yao" instead of "Zo >>> Yao"

Also, I think Hill & Pippen should be equal.

Zo averaged 22/10 with 4 blocks on 55% and was the DPOY.
